Key Performance Areas: The incumbent is must exercise the authority to take technical decisions in terms of building inspection and law enforcement issues as well as to take administrative decisions subject to Council Policy and National Building Regulations. Appointment Requirements: 
 BA in Digital Media and Design/NQF level 7; 
 3 – 4 years’ experience, preferably within the Heritage environment and at least 2 years’ experience in Photographing in photo studio and digital images editing; 
 Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and Outlook); 
 Physically fit (job involves moving objects and working on your feet); 
 Good eyesight and manual dexterity for fine work; 
 Meticulous attention to detail in report writing; and 
 Working unusual hours, such as weekend and/or after hours. 
 
Primary Function Preserve, conserve and restore the items in the museum’s collections. Provide support and advice to the curatorial team in preparation of images for exhibitions as well as assessing items for purchase. Provide input to the budget for this area of operation. Manage staff in the Digitisation Unit. Administer the online schedule and online order forms and logging work as it is completed. Coordination of the digitization function in museums 
 
Key Performance Areas: Preserve, conserve and restore the items in the museum’s collections in consultation with the curatorial team. Help develop the digital image archive of the Heritage Collections and other archives and supply of images to clients. Manage the process in digital imaging studio. Monitor Supply digital images to clients. Develop and maintain the Digital Library of the Heritage Collections and other archives and supply of images to clients. Manage the Conservation Assistant. Support the technology systems that underpin the Directorate’s core mandate and programmes. Assist with maintaining the Directorate’s public website and intranet. 
 
Leading Competencies: Project Management. Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Attention to detail. 
 
Core Competencies: Report writing. Computer skills, financial skills, Good communication, Problem solving ability, HR values and Batho Pele Principles.
