Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment, and Care.
  • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • Nurse Initiated Management of Antiretroviral Therapy (NIMART) and a Dispensing Certificate will be an added advantage.

Duties:

  • Coordinate DSTI/NRF Livestock for Society SARChI research activities
  • Lead field and laboratory livestock research
  • Supervise, mentor, and coach postgraduate students and early-career researchers in line with the human capital development imperatives of the Chair and the University
  • Generate research output through DHET-accredited journals, book chapters, and conference presentations
  • Promote inter-and multi-disciplinary research
  • Establish new engagements with national and international partners, policymakers, and community stakeholders to enhance research impact
  • Secure research grants aimed at supplementing and supporting the financial sustainability of the DSTI / NRF Chair as well as the incumbent career development.
  • Preparing reports on the activities of the Chair.

Senior Lecturer: 

Academic route: •The candidate should have a Doctor of Laws degree or equivalent in the field of Public or Procedural Law coupled with five years of teaching experience in a higher education institution, or seven years of relevant professional experience. The candidate should have at least three publications in accredited journals or accredited book chapters.

Professional route: • Candidate should have a Master of Laws degree in the field of Public or Procedural Law coupled with an admission as an Attorney or Advocate. Candidates admitted as Attorneys must attach proof of admission, while candidates admitted as Advocates must attach proof that they underwent pupillage/practical legal training for advocates, over and above proof of admission. The candidate should also have ten (10) years of post-admission practice experience.  Candidates appointed through the professional route will be appointed on a five-year contract basis with the provision that the appointment will be converted to permanent upon attainment of a Doctoral degree within the five years of appointment.

 

Lecturer:

Academic route: A Master of Laws degree in the field of Public or Procedural Law and two years of teaching experience.

Professional route: A Master of Laws degree in the field of Public or Procedural Law with five years post-admission experience. The candidate should be an admitted Attorney or Advocate who completed pupillage/practical legal training for advocates.

 

Duties:

·       To teach undergraduate modules in the department. These can be; Jurisprudence, Legal Communication Skills, Interpretation of Statutes, Constitutional Law, Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure, Human Rights Law, Legal Research Methodology, Administrative Law, Public International Law, Criminal Law

·       Actively participate in school and departmental activities, including committee work

·       Senior Lecturer candidates should demonstrate exemplary leadership in the Department of Public Law

Job Title Director: International Relations and Partnerships

Job Requirements

A  Doctoral degree or Master’s degree with proof of enrolment for a doctoral degree as well as eight years’ relevant experience, at least three of which should be at management level. In depth knowledge of quasi-judicial process and policies governing higher education institutions, ability to compile quality reports independently and a positive disposition with excellent report writing skills.  An incumbent who understands the importance of enhancing academic project through internalisation and partnership.

 

Duties:

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Research and Postgraduate Studies, the Director: International Relations will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for the University’s internationalisation agenda. This includes the development and management of international linkages and partnerships, oversight of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) relating to international collaborations, and the facilitation of international staff and student mobility. The role further encompasses the coordination of international visits, exchange initiatives, and study programmes for UNIVEN staff.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible, inter alia, for the following:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy and operational framework for the University’s International Relations Office.
  • Creating institutional awareness of the International Relations Office and disseminating information on internationalisation opportunities and related activities.
  • Developing and implementing UNIVEN’s institutional international relations strategy in alignment with the University’s strategic objectives.
  • Creating and diversifying income streams arising from internationalisation initiatives, with the objective of making the International Relations Office largely financially self-sustaining.
  • Ensuring the integration of internationalisation across all academic projects involving both staff and students.
  • Supporting academic staff in achieving the University’s third-stream income objectives by facilitating access to international funding opportunities and funders.
  • Establishing, reviewing, and managing international partnerships and internationalisation policies in line with the University’s strategic direction.
