Job description
The School of Health Sciences wishes to appoint an Academic who will contribute actively to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, learning, research, and community engagement. The successful candidate will be required to perform some administrative work, such as, but not limited to, acting as module(s) coordinator.

Minimum requirements
Minimum General Requirements (for both levels)

All applicants must have an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy
A Master’s degree in the relevant discipline
Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Physiotherapist
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office packages (i.e. Excel and PowerPoint);
Valid code 08 driver’s license
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Physiotherapist

Minimum Requirements for Lecturer

Experience in teaching and learning, and assessment practices in a relevant field at a tertiary institution;
Ability to make the necessary preparation and coordination of various teaching and examination schedules within the Discipline
Evidence of involvement in community engagement programs.

A successful candidate at the Lecturer level (without a PhD degree) will be expected to complete a PhD within 5 years of the date of assumption of duty.

Minimum Requirements for Senior Lecturer

A PhD degree in Physiotherapy
Evidence of appropriate teaching experience in a relevant field (musculoskeletal rehabilitation) at a tertiary level;
Evidence of current and sustained research publication record in quality scientific journals (A minimum of five publications in peer-reviewed SAPSE-accredited journals for Senior Lecturer);
A track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Master's and/or PhD levels, appropriate for the level AND
Demonstrated ability to apply for research grants, either as the Principal Investigator or as a member of a team.

Introduction
The Human Resources Department wishes to appoint an HRD Officer. The HRD Officer is responsible for supporting the HRD Managers in coordinating, implementing, and monitoring skills development initiatives within UKZN in compliance with South African skills development legislation.

Job description
The role ensures alignment between institutional strategy, staff development needs, SETA requirements, and national skills development priorities. These initiatives namely, (learning, training and development (LTD)) are directed towards improving the University’s performance and enhancing productive working relationships. The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, office and finance administration; coordination of HRD programmes and seta projects; system support; committee administration (viz. academic promotions); HRD reports and statistics; and claims to the SETA.

Minimum requirements
Matric plus a relevant three (3) year tertiary qualification
A minimum of 3 years relevant working experience, in a busy and pressurised office environment in a large organisation that includes: -

Development and submission of the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) in line with SETA requirements
Implementation of the Skills Development Act (SDA) and Skills Development Levies Act (SDLA)
Liaison with the relevant SETA (e.g., ETDP SETA) on submissions, grants, audits, and evaluations
Monitoring of legislative and policy changes impacting skills development at the University
Conducting institutional Training Needs Analyses for academic and professional support staff
Coordination and implementation of the skills development programmes aligned to institutional goals
Support professional development initiatives for academics, researchers, and professional services staff
Co-ordination of learnerships, internships, bursaries, and other structured learning programmes
Advanced computer skills literacy in Microsoft packages (e.g.Excel, Word, Power point including MS Project)
Good Communication (Verbal and written), Planning and organisation, Finance and administration skills
