FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES
Professor/Associate Professor in Nursing (1 Post)
Professor: Nursing
Minimum Requirements:
- A relevant Doctoral Degree
- A qualification in Nursing Education that is registered with the South African Nursing Council
- Professional registration with the South African Nursing Council
- At least 9 years’ experience in higher education for the professor post
- Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in nursing
- A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Professor
- Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Professor
- Evidence of successful national and international fundraising for research.
- Recognition as an established scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating, international keynote addresses/ plenary lectures).

- Evidence of professional and academic standing at national and international levels

Responsibilities:
- Provide academic leadership in research; curriculum design, development, and implementation
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules
- Meet research publication requirements for the academic rank of professor
- Secure external research grants and establish research programs
- Supervise all levels of postgraduate students and host post-doctoral fellows
- Establish institutional, national and international collaborations
- Provide academic leadership and contribute to mentorship of academic staff
- Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research
- Contribute to University service and participate in administrative duties at departmental, faculty and university levels
Associate Professor: Nursing
Minimum Requirements:
- A relevant Doctoral Degree
- A qualification in Nursing Education that is registered with the South African Nursing Council
- Professional registration with the South African Nursing Council
- At least 7 years’ experience in higher education
- Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in Nursing
- A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor
- Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Masters and/or Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor
Added Advantages
- A qualification in Nursing Management or Mental Health that is registered with the South African Nursing Council

FACULTY OF LAW
Legal Aid Clinic
Junior Attorney: Student Support (One-Year Fixed Term Contract)
Minimum Requirements:
- A four-year LLB Degree
- Proof of Admission and Practice as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
- Proof of Registration and good standing with the relevant Legal Practice Council
- A minimum of three - five years’ post-admission legal practice experience.
- Proven ability and experience in criminal and civil litigation as well as case management.
- A service record of your current employer/last employer only applicable to external applicants.
Added Advantages:
- Experience in teaching and/or facilitating legal education and/or training in a higher education environment
- A copy of your driver's license,
- An advanced degree in Law
Key Roles and Responsibilities Include:
- Implement, facilitate, and monitor the clinical legal education training program for undergraduate law students at the UFH Legal Aid Clinic.
- Facilitate the training of candidate attorneys and students as required.
- Ensure active involvement in research activities of the UFH Legal Aid Clinic.
- Provide legal services in line with services offered by the UFH Legal Aid Clinic.
- Coordinating provision for client consultations for law students
- Assist with community engagement programmes at the UFH Legal Aid Clinic and the Faculty of Law where required.
- Work in a team with colleagues within the Faculty.
- Contribute to academic coordination and perform administrative tasks related to the provision of legal services and student teaching at the UFH Legal Aid Clinic.
