Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Present undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the fields of Church History or Church Polity.
•    Actively conduct research in a relevant field of Church History or Church Polity.
•    Synthesise knowledge through the publication of scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals.
•    Communicate research findings at scientific conferences.
•    Source funding for research from international and national funding organisations.
•    Participate actively in the professional community.
•    Supervise postgraduate students at master’s and PhD levels.
•    Participate actively in leadership and administration at Departmental and Faculty levels.
 
Inherent Job Requirements:
•    A PhD on NQF Level 10 in Church History or Systematic Theology or related discipline.
•    Proven experience in the delivery of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
•    Evidence of manuscripts produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publication in accredited journals.
•    A good academic record (attach a copy).
 
Recommendations:
•    Preference will be given to Church History or Church Polity.
•    Preference will be given to candidates with at least one (1) year of teaching experience in a higher education environment, at both and undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
•    Registration with a professional body (e.g. Church History Society of Southern Africa; Theological Society of South Africa)(Attach proof).
•    The ability to teach with digital skills and competence.
•    Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) related to Higher Education Institutions (e.g. Blackboard) or related experience with institutional systems and the ability to navigate through them.

•    Actively do research within the broader framework or New Testament and its interdisciplinary potential.
•    Synthesise knowledge through the publication of scientific papers in peer-reviewed and DHET-accredited journals.
•    Communicate research findings at scientific conferences.
•    Source funding for research from international and national funding organisations.

Inherent Job Requirements:
•    A PhD on NQF Level 10 in New Testament.
•    Completed 16-32 credits of Greek on third-year level (NQF 7) with at least 8-16 credits in New Testament Greek and/or Early Christian Literature and/or Greek Rhetoric (preferably New Testament rhetoric) included over the years of study.
•    Proven experience in the delivery of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
•    Evidence of manuscripts produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publication in DHET-accredited journals.
•    A good academic record (attach a copy).
 
Recommendations:
•    Preference will be given to candidates with further graduate qualifications in Greek.
•    Preference will be given to candidates with at least one (1) year of teaching experience in a higher education environment, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
•    Published at least two articles in accredited journals (National and International).
•    The ability to teach with digital skills and competence.
•    Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) related to Higher Education Institutions (e.g. Blackboard) or related experience with institutional systems and the ability to navigate through them.

Duties and responsibilities:
•    Manage Communication and Marketing System workflows and publish content across UFS websites. 
•    Write, edit, and adapt content for clarity, accuracy, Search Engine  Optimisation (SEO), and accessibility compliance (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 2.1). 
•    Contribute to the Content Hub (Newsdesk).
•    Conduct content audits and ensure compliance with UFS Digital Content Guidelines and brand standards. 
•    Support User Interface/User Experience (UX/UI) enhancements and assist with web development adjustments (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). 
•    Curate multimedia content for web platforms (text, image, video). 
•    Monitor analytics (GA4, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, etc.) and provide reports with actionable insights. 
•    Collaborate with faculties, divisions, ICT Services, and external service providers on web projects. 
•    Benchmark national and international best practices and recommend improvements.

Inherent requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma on NQF Level 7 in Communication, Multimedia, Web Development, Digital Marketing, Journalism, or related field. 
•    Minimum two (2)  years’ relevant experience in digital content management, with proven technical, Search Engine  Optimisation (SEO), and digital writing expertise.
 
Recommendations:
•    Honours degree on NQF Level 8 in Communication, Digital Marketing, or related field. 
•    Proficiency in CMS platforms, web development basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and accessibility compliance.
•    Experience in higher education or complex organisational web environments. 
•    Knowledge of Application Programming Interface (API) integration basics, Google Tag Manager, and schema markup. 
•    Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro). 
•    Multilingual ability (English and South African Languages).
