- The broader research centers primarily on how communication could improve pro-environmental behaviours within the context of addressing climate change-related issues and challenges around food security.
- To ascertain media salience and public exposure to climate change and food security issues.
- Determine public perception, knowledge and attitude toward climate change and food security issues.
- Establish the role of media accounts in forming public attitudes and beliefs about climate change and food security.
- Understand the links between media accounts and pro-environmental behaviours (climate change and food security)
- Explore the role of the media, particularly community radio, in galvanizing the silent majority, especially the rural population, to embrace climate change and food security efficiency behaviours.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND CONDITIONS ARE:
- Prospective fellows must be self-driven with a solid environmental communication research background, especially in the areas of climate change and food security
- Possess a doctoral degree not older than five years in Communication or a closely related discipline.
- Preference will be given to South African Citizens, particularly women, holders of a South African Permanent Residence permit while foreign nationals would need to apply for a permit.

A full-time Postdoctoral Research fellowship position is available in the newly established Department of Business Innovations and Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Management and Commerce. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be involved in research on entrepreneurship, micro entrepreneurship, small business, marketing, and microfinance. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to produce research outputs in accredited journals in the above-mentioned topics.

- Hold a doctoral degree in Entrepreneurship, Management, Marketing or related disciplines obtained within the last five years.

A full-time postdoctoral position is available in the Faculty of Education in the School of General and Continuing Education, Faculty of Education, at the University of Fort Hare (UFH), East London Campus. The fellowship will enable an outstanding doctoral graduate to obtain research and innovation experience at a Higher Education Institution under the mentorship of established researchers. The fellowship is awarded on a competitive basis, considering the applicants' academic achievements, publication outputs and research potential, as well as the relevance of prior experience and expertise. The fellowship is available for a period of one year.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Candidates should have a Doctoral degree in Education, with a focus on Language in Education issues
- Open to South Africans and foreign nationals
- Preference will be given to South African citizens, women in particular and permanent residents.
- Young and emerging scholars
- Successful applicants may not hold full-time salaried employment during the fellowship.
- Successful applicants must be able to relocate to the UFH for the duration of the fellowship.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO:
- Reside as a postdoctoral research fellow at the UFH and participate in relevant activities of the Faculty of Education, and the Department of Research and Innovation
- In conjunction with the host as well as other members of the host school, co-author a minimum of 2 units per annum in DHET–accredited scholarly journal articles or chapters in accredited/credible commissioned books
The successful candidate will be required to conduct innovative research and obtain evidenced- based empirical data on Language teaching and learning in South Africa.
The postdoctoral research fellow shall reside in East London to access facilities at UFH East London Campus and participate in relevant activities

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP, PSYCHOLOGY DEPARTMENT
Govan Mbeki Research and Development Centre (GMRDC), in conjunction with the Department of Psychology, University of Fort Hare, seeks a suitably qualified candidate to take up a Post- Doctoral Research Fellowship position as soon as possible. The Fellow will support ongoing research activities in Health Psychology, Sexuality/Gender Studies, Abnormal Psychology and Cultural Psychology.
- The Fellowship is valued at R300 000 per annum and is renewable at the end of the year subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
- Note that a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Fort Hare is not an offer of employment.
- The appointment is for a 12-month period and will be renewed subject to the production of 2 Units in DHET accredited journals.
- The Fellowship requires full-time
Requirements:
- A doctoral degree in Psychology or related qualification
- Advanced knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative research designs
- Experience with statistical software
- The candidate should conduct workshops for Psychology postgraduate students
