Duties and responsibilities:
• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness appearance of the entire residences.
• Manage workflow, train cleaning team, an all-care colour coding system, creating and managing team schedules.
• Report to Senior Housekeeping manager incorporated with evaluating performance and providing feedback.
• Ensure that the residences runs smoothly and in accordance with UFS regulations.
• Supervise and coordinate related hygiene activities, manage cleaning staff and ensure that students and conference guests receive quality service.
• Organize storerooms for chemicals and cleaning equipment.
• Assist in developing and implementing housekeeping systems and procedures with the senior housekeeping manager
• Execute daily inspection of all residence public areas, bathrooms, kitchens and study areas.
• Brief the cleaning team daily.
• Prepare for conferences by ensuring that beds are made, rooms are clean and issuing of linen.
• Manage and count linen when issuing and sending it to laundry.
Maintenance Duties
• Do inspection and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required.
• Report malfunctions at the residences.
• Make follow-ups on maintenance that needs to be done.
• Receive and issue out toilet papers and keep records.
• Supervise handyman and grounds men.
• Oversee safety in the residence and serve as a departmental OHS representative.
• Execute administrative duties, including collection of inventory forms, copies of job cards.
• Provide weekly and monthly reports on maintenance, housekeeping and OHS of residences.
• Monitor general state of the physical building and report major problems.
• Receive and issue toilet papers to students residing in the residences.
Inherent Job requirements:
• Grade 12.
• A minimum of two (2) years relevant experience relating to the duties and responsibilities.
Recommendations:

Description
The Department of Agricultural Economics of the University of the Free State (UFS) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for a postdoctoral fellowship position, to be filled as soon as possible.
Candidates with a research interest and experience in research on the sustainable use of freshwater for food production, are encouraged to apply for this position. Candidates with proven experience in assessing the water footprint of agri-food products; Virtual water trade of agri-food products; Blue water footprint caps for river basins; Climate finance for agricultural production, would be considered.
The fellowship will enable an outstanding doctoral graduate to obtain experience in research and innovation at a higher education institution under the mentorship of established researchers.
The fellowship is awarded on a competitive basis, taking into account the applicants' academic achievements, publication outputs, and research potential, as well as the relevance of prior experience and expertise. The fellowship is available for a period of one year, renewable for up to two years subject to satisfactory performance and available funding.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Conduct innovative research in the following areas: Water footprint assessment of agri-food products; climate finance to incentivise water users to use water sustainably; virtual water trade to save water; setting of blue water footprint caps for river basins.
• Author/co-author at least three (3) publication outputs per year in the form of ISI–accredited scholarly journal articles or books/chapters in books. The renewal of the fellowship beyond the first year depends on satisfactory performance and the submission of an annual progress report.
• Initiate projects and seek funding.
• Register and reside as a postdoctoral research fellow at the UFS and participate in relevant activities of the School of Postgraduate Studies and the Directorate of Research Development.
Eligibility criteria
• Open to all South African and foreign nationals for full-time research at the University of the Free State.
• Graduated with a PhD degree in a relevant discipline within the last five years.
• Successful applicants may not hold full-time salaried employment during the fellowship.
• Successful applicants must be able to relocate to the UFS in Bloemfontein for the duration of the fellowship. This is a residential fellowship: the successful applicant is required to spend 80% of her/his postdoctoral period at the UFS.
• Prior experience in presenting research papers at conferences and/or seminars.
• Authored/co-authored academic publications.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging and innovative teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including executive education programs.
• Conduct high-impact research recognised nationally and internationally in business management with specialisation in agribusiness.
• Participate (for Associate Professor)/lead and participate (for Professor) in interdisciplinary research projects and initiatives.
• Supervise to completion of master’s and PhD students.
• Participate (for Associate Professor)/play a key role (for Professor) in curriculum development and programme enhancement for formal and executive education programmes.
• Engage with industry leaders and foster strong connections between the Business School and the business community, including providing consultancy work on behalf of the Business School.
• Generate third-stream income on behalf of the Business School through contract research, consultancy, and funding supporting learning and teaching.
• Contribute to the Business school's strategic vision and leadership.
Inherent requirements:
Associate Professor
• A PhD on NQF Level 10 in Business Management with a strong focus on specialisation in Agribusiness.
• Proven record of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
• Experience as external examiner for postgraduate students.
• Proven experience in the presentation of research papers at national conferences, where there is evidence of peer review of papers.
• Acted as an editorial board member of high-quality national scholarly journals.
• Proven national recognition for specialist expertise and research leadership in a specific scientific area of scholarship.
• Proven experience in the supervision of graduated master’s degree students.
• Proven expertise of practice experience in business management with a focus on agribusiness.
• Demonstrated ability for third-stream income generation.
• A proven research record of relevant publications in high-quality accredited national and international journals.
• An NRF rating of C3 or equivalent status.
• Served as a member of a national scholarly society OR a national committee or agency concerned with research at higher education levels OR showed evidence of service as an active member of an international equivalent.
Professor
• A PhD on NQF Level 10 in Business Management with a strong focus on specialisation in Agribusiness.
• Experience as external examiner for master’s-degree and doctoral students.
• Acted as editorial board member of high-quality international/ISI/IBSS journals.
• A significant research portfolio demonstrated by a sustained research record in the last 8 years.
• A research record of relevant publications in high-quality national and international accredited journals.
• Proven international recognition for specialist expertise and research in Business Management with a strong focus on specialisation in Agribusiness (for example, regularly reviews international/WoS/Scopus (Q1 and Q2) journals).
• Demonstrated successful supervision of graduated master’s-degree and preferably graduated doctoral students.
• Proven expertise of practice experience in business management with a focus on agribusiness.
• Demonstrated ability for third-stream income generation.
• Proven experience in delivering keynote addresses at national scholarly conferences.
• Demonstrate potential in wider public engagement and dissemination of research.
• Served as a member of a national or international scholarly society, committee, or agency concerned with research at higher education levels.
• An NRF rating of C1 or C2 or equivalent status.
Recommendations:
• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant practice experience in Agribusiness management.
• Proven lecturing experience in the Higher Education environment.
• An in-depth knowledge of agricultural economics and business.
• A track record in engaging with the agribusiness industry.
• Expertise in agribusiness finance and quantitative methods.
• Ability to communicate research results to clientele groups.
• Proven skills in data analysis using IBM SPSS, AMOS, PLS.
