POST 4: LED AND TOURISM OFFICER

 National Diploma (Economic / Management) or equivalent NQF level 6) 
 Added Advantage NQF level 7 
 Code EB driving license 
 Computer Literacy 
 Must have 2 years managerial experience field preferable within local government. 
 
Job Purpose: Coordinate key applications and procedures associated with the identification, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the effectiveness of local economic development and tourism initiatives, programmes and project in creating a conducive environment for entrepreneurs and committing and capacitating citizens, community based organisations, business and other interest groups towards achieving sustainable ways to meet social, economic and material needs and improve of life. 

 
Key Performance Areas: 
 Facilitate the key deliverables and immediate goals detailed in the Council’s Integrated Development Plan in respect of the communication, investment, tourism and agricultural dimensions of local economic development, 
 Participating in meetings and presenting information and opinions on economic development opportunities and the capability of current marketing initiatives to support strategies and develop and strengthen relationships within and outside the municipality, 
 Aligning outcomes to the broader local economic developmental and tourism objectives of the municipality, 
 Ensure LED projects contributes to the empowerment of local communities through sustained job opportunities and/or business potential, 
 Ensure laid down administrative procedures and reporting requirements are complied with and accurate information disseminated to support specific decisions/actions. 
 Identify with the key deliverable and strategic goals detailed in the Municipality’s strategic plans IDP etc.) in respect of the various dimensions of LED and Tourism. 
 Assessing, evaluating and drafting LED project proposals with reference to small business support and applications and preparing implementation plans to roll out action as contained in departmental strategies and annual plans, 
 Identifies with key dimension and opportunities with regards to LED and Tourism, 
 Preparing LED and tourism project reports/ statistics
 Manage and drive the processes relating to compliance, 
 Coordinating and managing adequate community participation, 
 Initiate and co-ordinate of consultative processes. 
 Preparing action/ business plan and budget allocations for the implementation phases of project. 
 Coordinate and control tasks/ activities associated with section.
