Position Purpose
To load, transport and unload all cargo within Transnet Port Terminals through the operation of the correct plant and
Equipment in compliance with the applicable standard operating procedure in order to optimize the movement of cargo and reduce damages thereby increasing terminal profits.
 
Position Outputs
1. Perform daily task on allocated machine prior to commencement of work in order to ensure operational integrity of equipment.
2. Complete daily task sheets, record equipment defects and advise supervisor of defects.
3. Replenish fuel and fluid levels of equipment
4. Operate allocated equipment in accordance with applicable standard operating procedure and monitor equipment performance during performance of the job. Operate front end loader, forklift and tractor/trailer
5. Report accidents or incidents which occur during performance of duty.
6. Ensure correct equipment / attachments are utilised during the performance of duties and change equipment as required to handle changing commodities.
7. Perform end of shift task.
 
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications, Experience & Inherent Job Requirements: • Matric/ NQF 4 • Code 14 (EC Licence) • Certificate of competence for each machine operated. • 2 years relevant driving experience in Port Operations/Maritime Services/Warehouse Tally Number of years with certificates or no formal qualification • Grade 10 / NQF 2 • Certificate of competence for each machine operated. • 3 years relevant driving experience in Port Operations/Maritime Services/Warehouse Tally
 
Competencies
Knowledge of operational areas and procedures • Knowledge and understanding of terminal mobile machines • Competent in operating certain terminal machines • Reporting of defects and incident, including daily machine check list • Safety Knowledge (Machine Loading capacity) and Safe Operating procedures • Handling or loading of different materials or cargo

Position Purpose
Responsible for maintaining and supporting existing configurations on the SAP ERP system including the following modules
Finance
Plant Maintenance
Project Systems
Sales and Distribution
Material Management
Portfolio Management
Governance, Risk and Compliance
Budgeting and Planning
Asset Management
To identify remedial actions to fix/update system configurations in the production environment.
To provide thought leadership and direction in the optimisation of SAP ERP modules.
To lead a team of junior
staff in maintaining and supporting production systems. 
 
Position Outputs
• Provide deep knowledge and expertise on the specific SAP IM/PS module that is being supported in the production systems. • Analyse existing and new business requirements to support SAP IM/PS applications in the production environment. • Investigate, propose and design technical solutions to address business requirements. • Document functional and technical specifications to address business requirements. • Develop and compile test plans for new business solutions proposed on the SAP IM/PS ERP system. • Conduct extensive testing with business counterparts for new solutions proposed and oversee the implementation of such solutions. • Consult with external vendors as part of the maintenance and support process to identify solutions to complex business problems.
• Have a full understanding of change control lifecycles and adhere to the prescripts and requirements of the change control process. • Collaborates with Operating Divisions in providing innovative solutions to systems that are in the production environment. • Leads a team of external staff and 3rd party service providers in providing both technical and functional support for SAP IM/PS systems in the production environment. • Responsible for ensuring skills transfer take place to junior staff as well as ensuring where applicable skill is transferred from external staff to Transnet employees.
 
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications, Experience & Inherent Job Requirements A Bachelors Degree or equivalent in an Information Technology related discipline is required. Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in IT product development and support functions.
