SPECIALIST: TRAINING (2 YEARS' FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

Position Purpose
Transnet is on an organisation-wide culture transformation journey aimed at embedding sustainable behaviour change and creating healthy, high-performing workplaces. Central to this journey is the facilitation of structured culture programmes designed to support awareness, learning, healing, and behavioural alignment.
Transnet therefore seeks to appoint a panel of experienced organisational culture facilitators (fixed-term contractors) to deliver full-day culture training programmes across the business on an as-needed basis over a two-year period.
Successful facilitators will play a critical role in enabling meaningful dialogue, supporting emotional processing, and creating psychologically safe environments in line with Transnet’s culture objectives.
Position Outputs
1. Programme Facilitation
• Facilitate full-day organisational culture workshops across Transnet in accordance with approved programme designs, facilitator guides, and material (to be provided).
• Deliver content with consistency, integrity, and fidelity to Transnet’s culture framework while remaining responsive to group dynamics.
• Apply adult learning principles and participatory facilitation techniques to ensure inclusive engagement.
• Co facilitate sessions where required and collaborate effectively with fellow facilitators and programme leads.
2. Creating Safe and Developmental Learning Spaces
• Create and maintain a psychologically safe environment that encourages open dialogue, trust, and respect.
• Support programme participants through emotional processing, difficult conversations, and reflective group dialogue.
• Manage sensitive topics such as workplace trauma, conflict, trust, values misalignment, and behavioural impact with professionalism and care.
• Apply trauma-informed and healing-centred facilitation practices to prevent re traumatisation and support learning.
3. Capacity Building and Alignment
• Attend and successfully complete Train-the-Trainer (TTT) sessions facilitated by Subject Matter Experts to gain:
o A deep understanding of programme intent, outcomes, and behavioural expectations
o Alignment on facilitation standards, language, boundaries, and escalation protocols
• Demonstrate continuous learning and improvement through reflective practice and feedback incorporation.
4. Programme Administration and Logistics
• Utilise own personal laptop for facilitation and programme administration purposes. • Travel extensively across Transnet sites in the following provinces:
o Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Free State, Northern Cape, Limpopo, and North West
• Submit all required information and documentation timeously to support travel and accommodation arrangements (booked and paid for by Transnet).
• Confirm daily attendance of employees to the Project Lead to enable accurate SAP updates and training progress reporting.
5. Reporting, Feedback and Insights
• Compile and submit monthly written feedback reports to Programme / Project Leads, including:
o Participant receptiveness and engagement levels
o Emerging themes, questions, concerns, and resistance points
o Observed behavioural patterns and learning insights
• Provide post-session verbal and written feedback to programme leads, highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommendations for continuous programme improvement.
• Escalate critical issues appropriately in line with agreed ethical and governance protocols.
Qualifications and Experience
• B Degree in Human Resource Management, or
• National Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management, or
• Degree / Diploma in Psychology, Social Work, Organisational Development, Industrial Psychology, or related field
Experience Requirements:
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in facilitation, preferably within:
o Organisational culture change
o Trauma-informed or healing-centred interventions
o Change management or leadership development programmes
• Experience working with diverse groups in corporate, operational, or community-based environments.
• Coaching experience (individual or group) will be an advantage.
Standard Job Requirements
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence • Willingness and ability to travel extensively for extended periods, as required and approved.

PORT WORKER

Position Purpose
The provision of labour as directed by supervisor in order to ensure safe and clean working environment or optimized cargo.

Position Outputs
•Cleaning of operational equipment (such as ship to shore cranes’ windows; cranes’ cabins; etc.)
Inspection of container condition
•Reefer monitoring operations
•Opening and closing of rail wagons twist-locks
•Loading off-loading and slacking of cargo in compliance of standard operating procedures
•Hooking/ unhooking
•Tarping/ untarping where applicable
•Place/ remove dunnage
•Cleaning of operational areas, rail trucks, plant, workshops, offices, sheds and ablution facilities as instructed.

FIRE FIGHTER

Position Purpose
Provide protection of life, property and the environment by responding to fire and emergency situations, conduct fire prevention duties, up keeping and servicing of fire equipment.

Hot work inspection on vessels, Rail Network, and depot construction sites 20. Perform any other function as directed by a person having authority.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications • Grade 12 • Fire Fighter 1 (SAQA/IFSAC - International Fire Safety Accreditation Congress) accredited. • Hazmat Awareness (SAQA/IFSAC) accredited. • Fire Fighter 2 (SAQA/IFSAC) accredited. • Hazmat Operational (SAQA/IFSAC) accredited. • First Aid (level 3) or Basic Ambulance Assistants Certificate. • Be in possession of a valid driver license (minimum C1) with PrDP
