HEAD: PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The purpose of this job, not limited to, develop and manage the project management function of the division responsible for the development of bulk raw water infrastructure.
Formulate and provide strategic direction to the project management function.
 
 
THE KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS OF THE ROLE IN FOCUS, ARE:
1. Oversee and co-ordinate the project management functions with regards to functionality and delivery within TCTA’s multi-project environment.
2. Set strategic direction for the project management function. Give guidance on strategic direction to Project Managers and other team members.
3. Establish sound working relationships with internal and external stakeholder’s facilitation effective delivery by the Projects Division. Lifting the profile of TCTA amongst stakeholders and investors, financiers and infrastructure role players in SA.
4. Ensure application of approved delegations of authority to and within the Division complying with sound governance principles and Board approvals. Delegations appropriate to create an enabling framework to ensure efficient project delivery.
5. Support the Executive Manager: PMID with annual business planning processes performance monitoring and reporting. Oversee and coordinate production of monthly progress reports on projects.
6. Ensure quality submissions from respective project managers for internal or external submission e.g. EXCO, Board Technical Committee. Contribute to the enhancement of PIM within TCTA’s knowledge management strategy ensuring best practices are applied and or captured. Oversee the risk management function across all projects ensuring effective risk identification and mitigation including reporting within TCTA Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
 
REQUIREMENTS
• Honours/Masters in Engineering, and Project Management will be an added advantage.
• 8-10 years relevant experience in the development and management of infrastructure.
Knowledge of the water sector is preferred
• Experience in managing a technical team is a must.
• Professional registration
