EXECUTIVE MANAGER: PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION
Location: Centurion

This is an invitation for suitable candidates to apply for the position of TCTA Executive Manager: Project Management and Implementation (PMI).

The Executive Manager: PMI is a strategic leader who will spearhead the project management and implementation function of TCTA, working closely with the CEO, executive team and Board. Superb leadership and management skills are required to ensure excellent performance levels and a modern and effective project management business unit that contributes note worthily to the water sector at large. 
 
The Executive Manager: PMI is an accomplished professional with technical knowledge and experience in large infrastructure project management, implementation, operations and maintenance. A deep appreciation of the holistic engineering project management process and the ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups are required. Achievement through others is important for thriving in the complex environment of the role. 
 
Experience as an executive is critical, while knowledge of state-owned enterprises and the South African water sector will be advantageous. The Executive Manager: PMI is part of the leadership team, making the incumbent a key TCTA culture trend-setter, respected by employees for their reputation of credibility, integrity, ethical conduct and performance excellence

Purpose of the Role: 
•To provide vision, leadership and direction to the engineering, environment and project management departments
•To contribute strategically to advancing and sustaining the business.
 
THE KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS OF THE ROLE IN FOCUS, ARE: 
•Oversee the successful implementation of large water infrastructure projects to support the government’s developmental agenda.
•Oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of completed projects.
•Ensure the development, maintenance and updating of project management and operations and maintenance systems and processes to ensure effective execution of the divisional mandate.
•Ensure compliance with legislative requirements as per TCTA’s combined assurance policies and procedures.
•Contribute strategically to the business, often working with various stakeholders, by successfully on boarding leadership roles in various internal and external assignments related to the water sector.
•Provide strategic leadership within the PMI Division.
•Ensure a sufficiently capacitated division that delivers on its mandate.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 
Compulsory: Master’s in engineering or science, with a minimum of 12 years’ experience in a relevant managerial role, including at least five (5) years at an executive level. Proven experience in project management and the successful implementation of large infrastructure projects.
Advantageous: Master’s in project management, an MBA or an equivalent leadership development programme.
