CONTRACT ENGINEER
Location: Centurion
Division: Project Management & Implementation
Reports to: Contracts Manager
Nature of employment: Permanent
Total Cost to Company: Market related
To provide technical, contractual and administrative support for the implementation of bulk raw water supply projects as well as ensuring compliance with terms and conditions of contract (CoC's)
THE KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS OF THE ROLE IN FOCUS, ARE:
1. Administration of TCTA engineering services and construction contracts
• Administer and interpret engineering and related services contracts in accordance with agreed procedures as well as terms and conditions of contract to ensure performance of the Professional Service Provider and that all contractual duties and obligation are met by all parties.
2. General staff management of Contract Technicians including 'overseeing and/or supervision of contracts management engineering activities
• Verification of Invoices, Claims, Variation Orders amounts with Cost Technicians/Controls Manager
• Verifications and /or calculations of contract expansions percentages including ensuring compliance with Operational Delegation of Authority
• Keeping an updating record of all changes to all contracts allocated to them
• General cost analysis support to Project Controls related to Invoices, Claims, Variations, etc.
3. Develop and Maintain project programmes and budget
• Make available accurate and relevant project programmes and progress reports
4. Provide management and administrative support
• Management of governance regarding contract expenditure in line with the Legislative Framework including but not limited to PFMA and related Regulations as well as development and maintenance of contract VOs and Claim registers
• Management and control of irregularities and other recordable expenditures through development and maintenance of registers and templates for recording, assessing and reporting in accordance to PFMA.
REQUIREMENTS
• B.Sc Engineering (Civil), preferably Professional registration with ECSA
• 7 Years’ experience in implementation of large-scale bulk raw water supply projects of which 2 years must be managing people
• Experience in the management of associated contracts and budgets is a must.
• Make available accurate and relevant project programmes and progress reports
