Thekwini TVET College invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the following Part-Time coordinator post available in Durban.
Part-Time coordinator post are for the Trimester 2 & 3 and Semester 2 of the 2025 academic year. The programmes are to be offered by the College on part-time basis (classes run on week days in the afternoon and or on weekends):
POST: PART-TIME COORDINATOR (BUSINESS STUDIES) X1
RATE: R261.00 per hour
CAMPUS: Centec Ref: CEN 01/25PT
Maximum Hours: 160 hours allocated for semesters and 120 hours allocated for trimesters (where two Coordinators are appointed per programme, per campus they will share the allocated hours)
Requirements: ·Matric certificate or equivalent ·Recognized and relevant tertiary qualification (REQV13) ·Advanced Teaching Diploma in TVT / Post Graduate Diploma TVET / Diploma in Secondary or Higher Education ·Valid SACE registration ·Three (3) years teaching or lecturing experience at a TVET College (preferable in Nated fields) ·Two years relevant management experience at a school or college ·A good understanding of effective learning delivery ·Proven record of management and student support management in a TVET Institution ·Experience in design and or implementation of internal administration system to ensure sound general administration · Good computer skills (incl. Word; Excel and PowerPoint) ·Good report writing & presentation skills ·Strong leadership skills; coordination and management skills; presentation skills; customer care; assertiveness; excellent record keeping and administrative skills; passion for learning and teaching; as well as good communication and interpersonal skills ·Good knowledge of FETC Act 16 of 2006, 2012 as amended ·Knowledge of GENFETQA 58/2001 and related TVET sector policy and legislation ·Valid driver’s license.
Recommendations: · Working knowledge of Coltech administration system
Key result areas: · Co-ordinate and manage all activities in respect of the Part Time programme ·Ensure effective management and administration of the Part-Time programme in keeping with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures · Implement quality management systems, policies and processes for monitoring classroom practices, assessment, moderation and performance records · Oversee the teaching and learning of the Part-Time programme, ensuring that it takes place in proper manner in accordance with approved prescripts · Maintain effective communication and relations with management, staff, students and parents · Liaise with College structures regarding TVET curricular and curriculum development · Responsible for student wellbeing in the Part Time Programme · Asset management on campus during the Part Time classes · Prepare reports for the project.
