POSITION STATUS : Fixed Term Contract -3 Years (Internal / External) 
 
 
Purpose of the job 
To plan, support and implementation of Network infrastructure, Network expansions and co-ordinate integrated activities across multiple functional lines to ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements signed by SITA. 
 
Key Responsibility Areas 
Plan and implement infrastructure; oversee the maintenance of the network infrastructure; Perform incident management and attend to escalated requests by Network engineers to ensure that service level agreements are met; and Supervision of staff. 
 
Qualifications and Experience 
Minimum: 3 year Diploma/Degree in IT related field (Computer Science, Information Technology/Engineering, BCom or similar). 
 
Additional requirements: Valid Certified Cisco Network Professional or equivalent other OEM’s certifications. 
 
Experience: 5 – 6 years in Wide Area Network (WAN), Network topology, Network Design , Application Layer and routing protocols. 
 
 
Technical Competencies Description 
Knowledge of: Computer based knowledge and experience; LAN knowledge and experience; Advanced Networking knowledge and experience; Advanced WAN planning and design knowledge and experience; Network Management experience; Knowledge and experience of Project Management principles; Advanced knowledge and experience of Cisco, Huawei, HP, Juniper or similar networking OEMs’ hardware and software; Solid knowledge of IP, routing protocols and Radius AAA; Solid knowledge of WANs and LAN/Campus Switched technologies; Solid knowledge of Wireless Networks; Advanced Knowledge and experience on layer 3 protocol – static routing, OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, IS-IS, etc; Change Control Management; Fault Management; Configuration Management; Asset Management; SLA Management; and Performance Management 
 
Skills: Proficiency in routing and switching technologies; ITIL ; Voice over IP; Network configuration; VPN Support; IT security; Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS); Written and verbal communication; Troubleshooting; Facilitation; Analytical; Conflict Handling; Contract Management; ICT Policy and Regulation; Financial Management. Enabling; Questioning; Stakeholder management; Change/transformation management; Information Scanning; Judgement; Lateral Thinking; Planning Organizing; Systems Thinking; Ability to anticipate user requirements and identify and resolve complex problems; Networking principles. 
 
Other Special Requirements 
 Willingness to work within a structured delivery environment and in accordance with best practices and standards 
 The incumbent will be required to consult and interact with Government officials, standards generating bodies, accreditation and certification bodies.
 Willingness to travel 
 Willingness to work overtime and standby
