SPECIAL INVESTIGATING UNIT (SIU)
The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) is in the process of implementing a new strategy that has resulted in a new operating model and structure. SIU is in search of new performance-driven team members who will perform functions related to drive the implementation of the new strategy that will position the SIU as a leading Anti-Corruption Agency in South Africa, underpinned by a performance-driven culture.
Suitably qualified individuals are invited to apply for the following permanent position:
MANAGER: COMMUNICATIONS X1

Head Office: Pretoria
Main purpose: To manage and coordinate internal and external communications in order to promote the SIU, to foster relationships that will serve the mutual interests of the SIU and all stakeholders. To provide media mobilisation and media support.
Minimum qualification and experience: B Degree in Communications or Public Relations or equivalent (NQF 7). 5 years’ experience in media relations/public relations/communications, of which 2 years must be at a management/ supervisory level.
Key performance areas (include but not limited to): Departmental Planning and Implementation of SIU Communications Strategy. Management and Coordination of Internal and External Communication. Media Relations Management. Brand Management. Outreach Event Planning Management. Management of Communications Projects. Staff Management.
Technical skills: Communication. Interpersonal. Presentation. Business writing. Networking. Planning and organizing. Relationship management. Attention to detail. Deadline driven. Stakeholder focused. Honesty/integrity. Influential. Results oriented. Self-motivated. Team player. Innovative. Creative. Multi-tasking.
Required knowledge (includes but not limited to): Sound knowledge of communication principles and processes. Sound knowledge of brand management principles. Knowledge of project management principles. Knowledge of the law enforcement environment and provincial / local government structures, processes and policies would be advantageous.
