Job Title: Infrastructure Solutions Designer (C5) X 2 POSITIONS
(Position based in Pretoria)
Reports to: Head Innovation and Architecture
Summation
Perform specialist Analysis, Planning, Design, Document, Evaluation and Research of the technology Domain specific System/Application Architecture for Postbank respectively across the specified Technology Domains (Systems, Applications , Data, Network, Host, DR, Security - but not limited to). Interact and provide specialist info to the Enterprise Architects, Developers, Support staff, Business Analysts, and Enterprise & Systems Architects according to project needs and Enterprise Architecture standards to provide market leading Infrastructure solutions that are expandable, reliable, available and serviceable.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyse specific (Server, Storage, Network, Host, DR, Security - but not limited to) technology drivers to determine technical Infrastructure requirements
• Develop DRP Domain solutions
• Analyse current national information technology Infrastructure pertaining to Domain focus area to detect critical deficiencies, single points of failure and recommend solutions for improvement.
• Analyse Domain specific industry and market trends and determine potential impact upon the enterprise Infrastructure.
• Define Domain specific principles to guide Infrastructure decisions for the enterprise according to EA standards.
• Design the implementation of a technology specific Infrastructure plan based on the specific technical requirements and infrastructure technology strategies
• Provide guidance and support for Domain Infrastructure architecture implementation and modification activities
• Oversee the evaluation and selection of hardware and software products for the specific Domain area, and the design of standard configurations
• Consult with application development projects to fit systems to focus area Infrastructure architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the Domain Infrastructure to accommodate project needs in collaboration with the Solution Architects

• Identify the user impact (skills, processes, structures) of changes to the technology specific Infrastructure
• Domain specific (Server, Storage, Network, Host, DR, Security - but not limited to) Infrastructure Research and guidance
• Document all Domain specific technical Infrastructure design and analysis work
• Get involved in all SDLC layers
• Document logical, security and physical architecture designs
• Ensure the efficient management and control of function / resources in accordance with the stipulations of the PFMA, fraud prevention and risk management principles, corporate governance, legislation, company policies, processes, regulations, Delegation of Authority, etc.
Minimum Requirements
• Minimum relevant National Diploma (NQF Level 6) and Certifications in Information Technology with a minimum of 1 - 3 year experience in the Domain specific discipline in a client/server environment, including, but not limited to, technical architecture, network management, infrastructure development, middleware, database management, operations experience and knowledge of ICT technologies in the specific technology sphere (Server, Storage, Network, Host, DR, Security - but not limited to)
• Knowledge of Domain specific Infrastructure solutions, processes and approaches
• Understanding of Domain specific IT infrastructure, vendor and product trends
• Infrastructure business case formulation & Interpretation
• Specialist complexities:
• Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies, and processing environments
• Identify the user impact (skills, processes, structures) of changes to the technology specific Infrastructure
• Domain specific (Server, Storage, Network, Host, DR, Security - but not limited to) Infrastructure Research and guidance
• Document all Domain specific technical Infrastructure design and analysis work

- Network – CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCVP, CCIP, VOICE Solution, MPLS and VSAN Implementation
- Host – Latest Unix OS, AIX, SUN, DLPAR, Containers, Nodes, HA, Partition mobility, IBM Pseries P5/6, Oracle 10+/RAC, BSM, Fibre, - not limited to
- DR – Connectivity, SRDF, Dataguard, VTL, Replication
- Security – ACL methods, IDS, IPS, data encryption, AV, FWall, Vulnerability analysis
