TECHNICAL MANAGER

Requirements
- BSc degree or Diploma in Construction/Building Management
- 4 to 6 years experience in Building Construction and renovation works programs.
- Experienced in Project Management and Quality Management systems
- Experience in managing a team of technical workers
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel and Word.
- Sound financial background
- Proven track record
- A Valid code EB Drivers licence
- Sound knowledge of the OHS ACT and Construction Regulations
- Good communication, liaisons and negotiation skills and;
- Must be willing to work irregular hours.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all civil and building infrastructure is provided for in accordance with National Standards and applicable legislation.
- To evaluate all existing buildings and services in order to compile annual maintenance and replacement programs.
- To plan, facilitate and implement, predetermined maintenance, renovations and replacement programs.
- To manage construction and maintenance contracts as well as Contractor Management.
- To develop and implement quality assurance programmes for civil and building infrastructure.
- To compile the annual budgets and advise all the Park Heads of Department on technical-related aspects to be included in their operational budgets.
- To Provide Technical support and advice to the rest camp staff and Hospitality Services Managers.
- To recommend training courses for staff to ensure they are adequately equipped to handle job requirements.
- To conduct bi-annual safety and risk assessments.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION OFFICER
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the above position in the Addo Elephant National Park. The purpose of the position is to enable stakeholders to derive maximum and equitable benefit from opportunities created through the Addo Elephant National Park and to improve the participation of local communities, thereby promoting a national conservation ethic. It is expected of the incumbent to stay outside the park as no accommodation is available inside the park.

Requirements
- A National Diploma or Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Nature Conservation or equivalent qualification.
- At least three (3) years in environmental awareness and training and two (2) years experience in management.
- Admin and report writing and financial management.
- Experience in community facilitation will serve as an added advantage.
- Ability to communicate in more than one language. Proficiency in isiXhosa and Afrikaans will serve as an added advantage.
- Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
- Good communication, interpersonal, project management and negotiation skills.
- A driver’s licence (code 8)
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the SET Regional Manager
- Facilitating the establishment of environmental awareness programmes in neighbouring community schools and with visiting interest groups inside the park.
- Monitor and support environmental awareness programmes in the business unit.
- Promotion of SANParks’ image to the park’s internal and external clients.
- Liaising with community-based interest groups and NGOs.
- Building and maintaining a sound relationship between the park and its neighbouring communities
- Facilitating the creation and maintenance of community-based socio-economic development projects
- Facilitate the cultural and indigenous knowledge programmes in the business unit
- Identify research needs in all KPAs.
- Co-ordinate and support Corporate Social Investment – and Wildlife Economy Projects
- Implementing the Socio-Economic Transformation Strategy
- Engage effectively in community-based conservation projects and programmes e.g. People and Parks Programme with DFFE

GENERAL MANAGER: REVENUE AND YIELD
The Organisation requires the services of a General Manager: Revenue and Yield in the Tourism and Marketing division. This position will be based at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.

Requirements
- Be in possession of a Degree in Commerce/ Business/Statistical or related fields; a Postgraduate Qualification in Commerce/ Business or related fields will be desirable.
- Should have at least 5 – 10 years experience in middle to senior management in the area of hospitality, travel and tourism and/or revenue optimisation t at a strategic level.
- Understanding of inventory management and revenue management systems and practices is essential.
- Knowledge of reporting tools such as PowerBi is desirable.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Suite (word, PowerPoint and Excel) is essential.
- An in-depth understanding of sales and sales management in the hotel and general hospitality industry.
- An in-depth understanding of revenue and pricing processes in the travel and tourism sector

Responsibilities
- Oversee pricing, revenue management, sales, and distribution strategy of SANParks tourism operations nationwide and across all platforms.
- Oversee and guide the annual revenue budget process for tourism operations.
- Analyse tourism performance and make recommendations to improve long-term strategies.
- Create, develop and implement modern revenue management and pricing strategies and tactics for SANParks tourism operations nationwide.
- Develop modern and technologically driven reports and live dashboards that will inform strategic decision-making.
- Forecast and report on monthly, quarterly, and annual revenues, variances and budget comparisons, sales distribution reporting and customer service-related reporting.
- Perform and report on competitive benchmark studies, competitor analysis, environmental scanning and market trends analysis for strategic decision-making.
- Develop and implement best practice standards in yield management; forward booking management; inventory availability by channel; pricing control and new pricing concepts.
- Oversee the standards and operations of the reservations department.
- Oversee the tourism standards and standard operating policies, policies and procedures within all SANParks tourism operations.
- Oversee the implementation, management, and audit of tourism standards across the organisation.
- In conjunction with the IT department, ensure that all online booking processes are well maintained, up-to-date and functional.
- Manage contractual relationships of distribution partners in the interests of SANParks
- Manage contractual relationships of all trade partners and key accounts,
- Constantly determine and implement efficiency improvement and cost reduction interventions in relevant business processes.
- Maintain visibility and presence in tourism operations to gain insight into revenue management issues and provide guidance and coaching on best practices where necessary.
