Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 plus a National Diploma in Public Administration or Business Administration, or Public Management and Governance or Occupational Health or Safety Management or Environmental Health or Social Science at NQF Level 6;
• Traceable record of COID management and reporting requirements associated with this position including in-depth understanding and knowledge of legislative requirements, acceptable practices, and procedures;
• 3 – 4 years’ experience in the working environment with exposure to all basic disciplines of health, safety, injuries on duty, disability rehabilitation and management;
• Must have thorough knowledge of (at least 3 years’ experience) in the management of a vital function, budgetary control and the management of programmes and processes.
Primary Function:
Manage all the processes relating to the COID pensioners of the City of Johannesburg whether they are totally or partially permanently disabled and whether they have dependents or not and to ensure full compliance with the COID Act (130/1993), the Municipal Finance Management Act (56/2003) and other relevant statutes and Council Policies.
Key Performance Areas:
• Effectively and efficiently manage the COID pensioners in the City of Johannesburg (CoJ);
• Ensure all COID pensioners are made aware of the impact that their disability will have on them and their dependents’ lives and their responsibility towards the CoJ;
• Manage the various processes internally and externally relating to COID pensioners;
• Administer and manage the salary budget of COID pensioners and related expenses;
• Create and maintain procedures and mechanisms to control the benefits for COID Pensioners.

Primary Function:
Provide an effective and efficient secretariat support service to the allocated meetings by assisting the group committees/meetings to develop and implement the strategic plans, operational plans, and terms of reference. Identify, initiate, conduct, and manage projects, reports, oversight visits, conferences, workshops, study tours, and any other business related to the support for meetings. Ensure effective coordination and administration of the allocated meetings from inception to post-meeting support and follow-up.

Primary Function:
Lead and manage Economic Development’s Policy Direction for the City of Johannesburg and ensure it is clearly understood and effectively integrated within the South African macroeconomic context and global economic context.
Key Performance Areas:
• Advise the City’s senior management on emerging and long-term economic trends affecting economic development, and further provide input into the strategic plan for the City that pertains to DED;
• Lead high quality and relevant economic development research, by providing forward-looking economic policy advice and acting as a principal advisor to the Executive Director (ED) of the Department of DED on economic issues;
• Manage the Directorate’s annual operating and capital budget so that spending is in line with the Municipal requirements and/or MFMA;
• Provide quality reporting and monitoring on the functions and performance of the Staff and Government Sub-Directorate which are factual, accurate and complete, timely; and are in line with the City’s requirements;
• Maximise the productivity of staff by optimizing the effectiveness of its employees in order to enable the achievement of objectives of the Directorate and manage the human resources thereof;
• Building and maintaining strong relations with internal and external business units, City Entities, key stakeholders (private sector), and peers to ensure all appropriate economic development issues are incorporated within the City’s plans and strategies;
• Maximise the productivity of Logistics by optimizing the effectiveness of its employees in order to enable the achievement of objectives of the Sub-Directorate;
• Efficiently and effectively manage the operational assets and resources of the Sub-Directorate cost-effectively in accordance with the legislative framework of the City’s policies and procedures;
