Role Mandate
To conduct processing technical training, skills programs, facilitate theoretical, practical training on site and assess learners in line with company standards, QMS, RPL standards and policies.  
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Arrange training material and equipment in accordance to company policies and standards
  • Prepare facilitator guides, assessor portfolios and learner guides prior to relevant training intervention
  • Ensure all learners are duly trained in accordance to operational processes and procedures
  • Ensure learners/employees achieve required competency levels when using equipment or machinery as per required standards and safety regulations
  • Ensure facilitator guide, assessor portfolio, and learner guides are utilised in line with company standards and procedures
  • Adapt training style to align learners’ level of understanding and competency
  • Provide feedback to learners post formative activities/assessments
  • Ensure assessor portfolio i.e. employees, contractors & learnerships and assessment evidence in accordance with agreed assessment instrument
  • Ensure all training and assessment records are filed and updated accordingly
  • Provide summative feedback to management and other key stakeholders upon completion of training
  • Contribute to development and formulation of training content to improve learning outcome and linked to required operational applications
  • Participate on improvement of assessment tools for various assessment methods and guides to ensure compliance with VACS standards
  • Keep abreast on subject matters within area of responsibility i.e. wetmill, drymill, kilns, safety, driver interventions, furniture making and timber structures
  • Engage Senior Practitioner: Processing & Apprentices in relation to training program and all related matters, including safety
  • Share training and related information with team members to improve effective learning
  • Ensure training and assessment documents are duly completed, moderated, and signed accordingly
  • Submit moderated documents to Administrator: Learning and Development for record and reporting purpose
  • Manage allocated vehicle(s) for training purpose in accordance with company policies and standards
  • Submit progress report to Senior Practitioner: Processing & Apprentices on monthly basis
 
Minimum Requirements
  • National Diploma in Wood Technology (NQF Level 6)
  • B-Tech Degree in Wood Technology (NQF Level 7) will be an added advantage
  • Assessor and or Facilitator Certificate will be an added advantage
  • 2 - 3 Years’ experience in sawmilling environment post Internship
  • Previous experience as an Assessor/ Facilitator/ Training Officer in sawmilling environment will be added advantage
  • Valid driver’s license

ICT SERVICE DESK AGENT & ADMINISTRATOR

Role Mandate
To create a smooth end-user technology experience through delivering first-line support, that enables efficient accomplishment of business tasks, by providing support and problem solving to business on ICT user support matters. This includes receiving, prioritising, documenting, and actively resolving end user requests with the assistance of other ICT personnel as needed.
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Maintain existing service desk facility for all business areas, identify issues and requests resolution
  • Analyse logged request and allocate appropriate resources for resolution
  • Provide status update to users on logged request
  • Provide first line support where possible and applicable
  • Update status of logged request
  • Assist Senior Service Desk Agent with communication to business on all downtime issues, system availability and change control requests
  • Ensure all service desk incidents are prioritised in line with Service Levy Agreement (SLA)
  • Monitor completion timeframe of service desk incidents reported and provide outcome to Senior Service Desk Agent
  • Improve user confidence in use of hardware and software
  • Assist users to effectively use office systems, products and services
  • Advise on solutions where applicable and refer complex problem situations to Senior Service Desk Agent for resolution
  • Actively troubleshoot to identify, assess, record, resolve and/or escalate incidents/service requests to Senior Service Desk Agent
  • Provide support on ICT related issues including hardware and software
  • Provide advice on additional functionality of existing processes and ensure best use of SAFCOL ICT system
  • Provide an effective interface between users, service providers and ensure diagnostic information is provided for error resolution and incident analysis
  • Assist in training users as and when required
  • Provide report to Senior Service Desk Agent current status of logged requests, long outstanding calls, status and progress on calls reported to service providers
  • Perform 3G connection and VPN setup
  • Assist ICT Support Technicians on loading required business software and applications
  • Process ICT invoices for payment in line with Supply Chain Management policies and procedure
  • Provide support to ICT Department on all administrative related activities
 
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Certificate: Information Technology (NQF Level 5)
  • National Diploma: Information & Communication Technology (NQF Level 6) will be an added advantage
  • A+ Certificate
  • N+ Certificate­ will be an added advantage
  • Microsoft Certification will be an added advantage
  • 2 – 3 Years’ experience in service desk support or administration
  • Previous experience in JDE will be an added advantage
  • Valid driver’s licence
