Purpose: The Specialist: Social Behavioural Research is responsible for ensuring that all road safety related social & behavioural research is gathered, investigated, analysed, packaged and provided to relevant internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent is also responsible for identifying, conducting, coordinating, and/or managing new road safety social & behavioural related research in line with the National Road Safety Research Framework.
Requirements: •Matric •Registered as a Research Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) (Essential) •5 - 7 years’ experience in Research Management

Duties: •Provide input into the functional plan of the department •Provide input into departmental reports to support decision-making •Provide input into departmental budget •Support management with tracking of expenditure in line with budget •Conduct meetings with all stakeholders and suppliers when required •Identify potential changes to SLA’s with suppliers and discuss these with suppliers •Liaise on a regular basis with all stakeholders and suppliers and ensure that relationships are maintained •Investigate problems and find suitable solutions •Take the appropriate actions and implement/address with teams/individuals •Ensure that customer complaints are dealt with and resolved within all set RTMC policies and procedures •Ensure that all service providers follow set RTMC policies and procedures •Ensure compliance with all legislative and regulative requirements •Deliver optimal customer service to internal and external customers that adds value to the business and generates a low rate of complaints from customers •Share customer feedback with team members to ensure customer service is improved •Identify, conduct, coordinate and/or manage new social and behavioural related research in line with the National Road Safety Research Framework •Conduct, coordinate and/or manage appropriate and relevant research •Develop and maintain relationships with other relevant research institutions both locally and internationally •Identify relevant Research body to conduct the research in conjunction with Supply Chain Management •Coordinate and collaborate on relevant research amongst key stakeholders in the Road Safety fraternity •Facilitate the publication and dissemination of research findings pertaining to road safety and traffic matters •Communicate research findings and advocate the inclusion of research recommendations to implementing agencies •Develop and maintain a database for Social and behavioural research business cases and reports •Develop own Individual Development Plan (IDP) reflecting current and future development requirements to drive personal development •Remain up to date with relevant market trends and incorporate information into your work to add value.
