Purpose: Specialist: Operational Risk Management reports directly to the General Manager: Organisational Risk Management. The incumbent is responsible for the development, maintenance and implementation of comprehensive process for identifying, assessing, mitigating, monitoring and reporting on operational risks that may impact on the RTMC’s performance. 
 
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree NQF Level 7 or B-Tech NQF Level 7 or equivalent •Honours Degree NQF Level 8 or post graduate diploma NQF Level 8 (Advantage) • 6-8 years’ experience of which 3 years must be at supervisory level.

Duties: •Analyse the Enterprise Wide Risk Management (ERM) framework, policies, procedures and strategic review on an on-going basis •Provide input to the development of risk management strategies and framework •Maintain the ERM framework through identification of key risk controls, KRI's and measurement and reporting of tangible risks affecting the Corporation •Support the General Manager: Organisational Risk Management in conducting an oversight of the RTMC’s Enterprise Risk Management strategy in developing decisions aligned with the developed risk appetite •Develop risk profiles aligned to the strategy and developed risk appetite •Implement risk management process and tools within the Corporation •Ensure compliance with risk management policies and framework •Conduct research to assess the severity of risks considering proposed business decisions to protect the RTMC's assets and public image • Conduct risk assessments and audits •Collate, aggregate, interpret and analyse the results of risk assessments to extract risk intelligence •Conduct statistical analysis to evaluate risk • Give input to the development of contingency plans to deal with emergencies • Oversee that all control and management measures identified are implemented and monitored by the risk or action owner •Engage in regular research and reading to stay apprised about the state of the economy, global financial markets, and general current events •Stay up to date about market situations and company decisions that may impact one another • Facilitate and present risk assessment workshops with relevant stakeholders • Ensure that customer complaints are dealt with and resolved within all set RTMC policies and procedures •Ensure that all service providers follow set RTMC policies and procedures •Ensure compliance with all legislative and regulative requirements.
