Purpose: The Road Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring that road traffic safety engineering related work is conducted and implemented.
 
Requirements: •Matric • Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent (Essential) • Registered as a Professional (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) with the Engineering Council of South Africa ( ECSA) ( Essential) • Honours Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (Advantage) • 2-3 years’ experience in Road Safety Engineering.

Duties: • Identify potential changes to SLA’s with suppliers and discuss these with suppliers • Liaise on a regular basis with all stakeholders and suppliers and ensure that relationships are maintained • Investigate problems and find suitable solutions • Ensure that customer complaints are dealt with and resolved within all set RTMC policies and procedures • Ensure that all service providers follow set RTMC policies and procedures • Ensure compliance with all legislative and regulative requirements • Deliver optimal customer service to internal and external customers that adds value to the business and generates a low rate of complaints from customers • Deal with customer complaints quickly and effectively • Ensure regular communication with customers • Share customer feedback with team members to ensure customer service is improved • Assist with the development and implementation of processes and procedures • Assist with the identification, management and implementation of road safety engineering related technical projects • Provide professional road safety engineering input • Assist with the development the South African Road Safety Audit Manual • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on road safety engineering related matters • Attend the SABS Technical Committees related to road traffic and safety engineering and collaborate with committees relating to road traffic and safety engineering and collaborate with committee members • Attend the Road Safety Engineering and Road Signs Sub- Committee and Working Groups and collaborate with committee members • Identify and report on High Risk Roads and Hazardous Locations • Remain up to date with relevant market trends and incorporate information into your work and add value.
