The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) is an Agency of The Department of Transport and a Member of the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration.
 
 
Facilitator: Firearm Tactical
Ref No. RTMC 1 TP: FC/FT/2020
Salary Package: Negotiable
 
Purpose: Responsible for facilitating firearm training and assessments for traffic
trainee and Law Enforcement.
 
Requirements: • Grade 12 plus a firearm trainer qualification at advance level with five (5) years' experience. • The successful candidate should be an accredited fire-arms trainer and assessor. • Must be an accredited range officer. The candidate must further be a physically and mentally fit person with no criminal record.
 
The successful candidate must have the following attributes and competencies: • Knowledge of legislation applicable to firearms • Conduct firearms inspections and training • Ability to effectively and safely operate a variety of firearms • Knowledge of orientating members into a training environment • Able to induct and supervise training sessions from a predetermined training programme, inclusive of tactical fire arm training • Conflict resolution and problem solving skills • Ability to maintain discipline and professionalism in a uniform environment.

Duties: • Training: Firearms • Incorporate existing, new and advanced techniques into existing programs • Review policies and procedures relating to all relevant competencies • Facilitate all relevant training as per Standard Operating Procedures • Conduct assessments and accurately record results of officials in accordance with the policies and procedures • Provide Remedial training for all learners and existing staff • Perform practical training and assessments as required • Compiling of lesson plans as required • Provide support for trainees through the use of a wide range of learning resources and appropriate practices • Assist in regular review and updating of course content and training materials, ensuring that they remain up-to-date and relevant.
