Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the Manager: Demand Management, the successful incumbent is responsible for the effective and efficient forecasting of the identified and planned business demands with regards to the future requirements for the goods, services and works of the Road Accident Fund.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
Commodity Identification
  • Ensure implementation of all demand management related policies, procedures, standards and templates.
  • Define required codification standards and codify accordingly.

  • Categorise future demands across RAF for goods, services and works.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree/ Advanced Diploma in a Commerce/ Logistics Management/ Supply Chain Management related qualification.
  • Working experience with SAP procurement module or similar ERP System.
  • Relevant 4 years’ experience in a Demand/ Aquisition Management related environment of which 3 years’ experience must be in the ICT public sector procurement/ supply chain management within SoEs environment.

Purpose of the Job
The Manager: Financial Risk Data Analysis will be responsible for Data Warehousing and Analyses, including management of payments batching and flow of cash. The incumbent will also be responsible for creation of cash flow ladders the identification of potential financial risk areas within the Fund. The role will also be required to facilitate the retrieval of specific information through simple queries from a database.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
Policy review and implementation

Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the Senior Manager: Corporate Actuarial, the successful incumbent is accountable to manage the use of mathematical and statistical models to predict future events and outcomes that may hinder or support the Fund and their strategic/ financial capabilities.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
Predictive Analytics and Modelling
  • Work with data to develop our machine learning and predictive analytics solutions in order create or improve i) fraud detection, ii) liability projections, iii) fuel levy projections models to optimize risk management for the Asset and Fund Management Department.
  • Develop, train, test and deploy new predictive and analytical models using analytical models and algorithms. Ensure model results are explainable.
  • Maintain and refine advanced mathematical and statistical models pertaining to various aspects of the business.
  • Optimise decision making and build automated prescriptive analytics solutions that support various fraud monitoring and detection.
  • Manage the whole data science development process of gaining a business understanding, defining the problem, data cleansing and feature engineering, business modelling and simulation, hypothesis generation and testing, machine learning model training, testing and refinement and finally deployment and monitoring of predicted outcomes within the business processes.

  • Manage the development of actuarial analysis on “payout” models that will redesign compensation packages.
  • Assist with development of the Revenue Requirement Models (RRM) with various funding and/or operational scenarios.
  • Perform a wide range of interest rate risk analysis using a variety of sophisticated risk metrics such as Duration of Equity (DoE), duration and convexity, value at risk (VAR), liquidity ratios, etc.
  • Provide insightful research reports and analysis on traditional and alternative asset classes.

Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Bachelor’s Degree/ Advanced Diploma in a Financial Management/  Investment Management/ a Accounting/  Risk Management related qualification.
  • Relevant 5-7 years’ work experience in an Actuarial environment of which 2 years must have been on a supervisory level/ area of expertise area.
