MANAGER LABOUR RELATIONS (TASK GRADE 14)
SALARY: R369 615.25 TO R479 776.76 PER ANNUM (EXCLUDING ALL BENEFITS)
 
Requirements:Degree/BTech in Human Resources / Labour Law/industrial Relations • Minimum of 3-4 years relevant experience • Code B Driver's Licence.
 
Job Purpose: Manage and control all aspects related to the application of specific procedures associated with maintaining a sound industrial/labour relations section and administration by monitoring and maintaining performance levels of subordinates, planning in order to maintain productivity and optimum service delivery with respect to guiding disciplinary and grievance processes, reporting to specific Committees on the status of the function, capacitating management representatives on the application and interpretation of policies and agreements.
 
 
Key Performance Areas:The successful candidate will be responsible for management and control of organizational change and development through the formulation of specific policies and procedures in order to ensure organisational compliance with legislative and administrative procedures *Attending to and participating in complex conciliation and arbitration proceedings, including briefing appointed attorney and implementing actions or awards accordingly • Initiating discussions with worker representatives on issues impacting employment relations in the workplace • Commenting and reporting on the status of employment relations, application of collective agreements and codes of conduct against measures/corrective for implementation in consultation with the key functional areas of the organisation • Provide practical training and guidance to all employees on procedures and applications associated with specific Industrial Relations process in order to ensure specialist support is made available and the capacity of individuals developed to acceptable standards enabling consistent application of procedures • Direct and control the Key Performance Indicators and outcomes of personnel within the Labour Relations Section • Dissemination information through publications and presentations outlining critical labour relations interventions, scope, coverage and benefits • Approving the circulation of staff circulars detailing changes to terms and conditions of specific benefits, conditions of service and other related organisational issues impacting employment • Participating in the Trade Union and Committees, etc. with a view to interacting and leading discussions on the implementation of national strategies and constraints facing regional alignment • Compiling and presenting reports, referring to statistics to describe the industrial relations climate in the organisation • Preparing reports on Disciplinary/Grievance cases referred and attended to, outlining outcomes/ awards for submission to specific Committees • Provision of guidance, interpretation and/or actions with respect to dispute settlement guided by legislation, regulations and procedures • Represent the Municipality in internal disciplinary process, CCMA, Bargaining Council and Labour Court when the need arises.
