Systems Administrator (x1 permanent)
Qualifications
IT Diploma or Degree. Minimum 3 to 5years relevant experience. Business Analysis Training required
Key performance areas/duties
Manage and provide a stable, reliable, adaptable systems environment in line with acceptable industry norms, standards and policies. Develop and implement policies, processes, procedures and controls to safeguard systems and information assets. Monitor compliance to processes, procedures and controls. Develop and maintain system administration documentation, test procedures to ensure client service continuity. Plan, motivate and control expenditure in line with departmental objectives. Process and document business user requirements in line with set standards. Ensure availability of systems services to the users. Ensure security of data and systems through appropriate control mechanisms. Resolve user queries for 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support in line with approved Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Train systems users as required and during implementation of changes. Identify system risks and implement measures to mitigate. Introduce/recommend new software applications and/or system upgrades. Increase the use of existing software features, optimisation of users environment. Identify, select and monitor the performance of suppliers whose products/services support the implementation of JCPZ ICT strategy. Assist in the negotiation of prices and service levels with suppliers whose products/services support the implementation of JCPZ ICT strategy. Assist in the preparation and management of contracts and SLA’s of suppliers whose products/services support the implementation of JCPZ ICT strategy. Participate in multidisciplinary teams in order to promote and deliver the ICT department’s objectives as well as delivering user departments’ and corporate objectives. Maintain solid relationship with business users and 3rd parties
Specific Skills and Knowledge
Solid experience in applications / systems administration. Understanding of business processes management. Strong understanding of business systems functionality. Experience on Microsoft Office suite and related products. Understanding of JCPZ Business Strategy and Operations. Financial Literacy. Knowledge of MS Platforms, SQL. Working knowledge of legislative framework and regulations, e.g. MFMA. Organisational behaviour. Extensive knowledge of relevant IT solutions, products and services. Understanding of Political Protocol. Risk Identification skills. Solid communication skills
