TECHNICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT
MANAGER HUMAN SETTLEMENTS
(TASK GRADE 15)
Salary: R482 185 .80 – R625 908 .84 per annum (Excluding all benefits)
 
Requirements: Degree in Human Settlements/Project Management/Building Science or Civil Engineering • At least four (4) years’ relevant experience • Registration or eligibility to register with any Statutory Council in Built Environment • Knowledge of housing policy and legislation • Excellent analytic, research, interpersonal, written and communication skills • The ability to perform under pressure, work independently as well as in a team • Computer Literate • Code B Driver’s Licence.
 
Key Performance Areas: Ensure delivery of houses within the housing policy framework and the IDP of the municipality • Ensure effective and efficient management of Housing development Programme from Project Conception to Close out 
• Provide an advisory service to Head of the Department on plans and strategies to address the housing needs of the region • Initiate, organise and manage the contractual agreements between the appointed service providers (consultants & contractors) and the municipality • Evaluation of project plans • Identification of challenges from sites and the development of follow up actions thereof • Scrutinise payments certificates and quality control tests • Do project inspection and hold site meetings • Ensure effective and efficient management of human and financial resources allocated to the Housing Section • Ensure that the Municipality complies with its reporting obligations to its funders • Assist the Head of the Department in the execution of his Performance Targets.



 
 
PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT
SENIOR TRAFFIC OFFICER
(TASK GRADE 10)
Salary: R236 726 .88 to R307 270 .56 per annum (Excluding all benefits)
 
Requirements: Grade 12 • National Traffic Diploma accredited by the Institute of Traffic and Municipal Officers of South Africa • Minimum of 3 years as Traffic Officer • Code B Driver’s Licence.
 
Key Performance Areas: Co-ordinates specific law enforcement functions in order to ensure inconvenience and/or risk and safety is minimised through efficient handling of traffic congestions • Performs relevant administrative functions, coordinates and controls the tasks/activities of personnel and allocates and prioritises outcomes • Co-ordinates specific administrative and reporting requirements in order to ensure administrative sequences dictating reporting requirements, approval procedures and maintenance of records are complied with. Attends to the application of specific maintenance sequences with respect to equipment and vehicles.
 
 
 
 
 
SENIOR CLERK (2 POSTS)
(TASK GRADE 06)
Salary: R137 191 .20 – R178 101 .00 per annum (Excluding all benefits)
 
Requirements: Grade 12 • Must have at least have 2 years experience • Computer Literacy MS Word / Excel • Ability to operate the eNatis System • Ability to communicate in local spoken languages (IsiZulu and English).
 
Key Performance Areas: Collection of tickets and summons • Check registered owners on eNatis computer, apply for registered owners who are not on system • Write relevant information on traffic fines • Print daily reports on traffic fines / summons • File traffic fines numerically • Allocate serial numbers to the individual photographs and capture • Check traffic fines before summonses.
