ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT
(Permanent Position) REF: QCTO 172
Salary Notch: R 376 596.00 – R 454 920.00 (Excluding benefits)
LOCATION: PRETORIA
Assist in the management of ICT operations in QCTO.
Key functions:
Assist with the development of policies, procedures and frameworks related to ICT operations.
Assist in managing, monitoring and control of ICT operational hardware and software purchasing, licencing and enhancements.
Assist in managing, monitoring and the control of information sharing and knowledge management portals, platforms and systems.
Assist in managing, monitoring and the control of security of data, network access and backup systems.
Assist in conducting system audits on technologies implemented.
Assist in managing, monitoring and control of fault-finding to ensure that ICT operational problems are swiftly identified and resolved.
Assist in managing, monitoring and control of downloading and installation of software, including updates.
Assist in managing, monitoring and control of user connectivity to networks.
Assist in managing, monitoring and control that users can use hardware and software by sourcing training and/or self-help instructions.
Assist in managing, monitoring and control of ICT risk management.
Assist in managing, monitoring and control of ICT operational related business continuity plan, including disaster recovery plan.
Conduct regular follow-up meetings with management to determine the effectiveness of ICT operations.
Assist colleagues as required
Requirements:
A recognised three (3) year National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or (minimum NQF level 6) registered with occupational qualifications sub-framework (SAQA).
3-5 years' collective experience.
Experience in the areas of ICT operations and Valid driver’s license
Must have knowledge of Public Service, QCTO mandates and strategies, education system and pedagogy, Post school education framework, relevant Government wide legislation e.g. National Qualifications Framework Act, Skills Development Act and National Skills Development Strategy III.
Must have skills in problem solving and analysis, communication, stakeholder engagement, data management, Technology-related change management, Software performance, Database performance, Network design.
