We are currently seeking applications from dynamic individuals for the following position:
SENIOR LEGAL ADVISOR – LISTED LEGAL
Salary: All-inclusive remuneration package negotiable
Centre: Investment Legal

Purpose of the role:
To provide legal advice on Listed transactions and commercial law matters and transactions, and legal advisory in investments within the PIC.
Requirements:
- LLB degree
- Post Graduate Degree with relevant focus on investment legal (LLM advantageous)
- Admitted attorney of the High Court with 6 - 8 years post post-admission experience specifically in corporate/ commercial law and investment management.
- Excellent and good quality drafting of investment agreements
- Overall experience in the financial services sector will also be considered for the role.
Duties:
- Conduct legal research, provide opinions and advices in respect of corporate/commercial law matters and investment legal advisory.
- Draft, review and negotiate corporate agreements, including from corporate transactions.
- Manage the legal component of Listed Investments transactions.
- Review documents in relation to derivatives instruments, ISDAs and GMSLAs.
- Identify new and amendments to investment legislation that impacts PIC and facilitate training for employees.
- Manage and coordinate legal instructions and attorneys on the panel.
- Provide training to staff.

Purpose of the role:
To implement the alpha generation strategies relating to Manager Selection, Monitoring and Portfolio Construction processes, while implementing Transformation strategies.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications and experience:
- BCom (Hons) or BSc (Hons) degree
- At least 10 years multi-management experience
- At least 3 years Global Equity experience
- FAIS Representative
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters, CFA or CA (SA)
- CFA would be advantageous
Minimum Technical/Core Skill Requirement:
- Investment & Economic knowledge
- 10 years Investment industry experience with portfolio management experience
Duties:
- Monitor developments in the financial markets to maintain an understanding of current and anticipated trends and how they may affect client portfolios in allocated asset class(es).
- Ensuring delivery of client objectives through adherence to portfolio construction principles.
- Monitor and analyse existing managers’ with respect to qualitative and quantitative factors
- Screen and analyse potential managers with respect to qualitative and quantitative factors
- Interpretation of Risk and Performance analysis for decision making
- Produce reports for the Portfolio Management Committee and Investment Committee
- Researching and evaluating investment strategies, ideas and concepts
