Minimum Requirements:
  • Matric /N3 Qualification Certificate
  • A Qualified Mechanical fitter (Trade Test)
  • Minimum of two (2) years as a qualified Mechanical Fitter experience in a similar position after obtaining a trade test certificate, and
  • A Valid driver’s EB license

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct Plant Maintenance including, but not limited to: Mechanical and Rotating equipment (Pump refurbishment and fault finding) including laser alignment and DTI (Dial Test Indicator),
  • Installation, alignment and removal of motors, pumps, valves and pipe work compressors, blowers, bearings, flanges, valves, gearboxes, etc.
  • Perform the dismantling of plant equipment to check for any defects on components and make necessary replacement or repairs.
  • Attend to breakdowns and perform corrective maintenance on plant and outside pump stations equipment,
  • Complete job and service cards in line with set procedures to ensure proper and accurate record keeping.
  • Conduct daily inspection and condition monitoring on plant equipment to ensure identification of defects well in advance and attend to them.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on all mechanical equipment and installations according to the asset management strategic plan.
  • Maintain all tools and machinery in good working order.
  • Adhere to OHSA standards, SANS standards and Magalies Water safety standards, Policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the planning, development and implementation of objectives and goals for the maintenance department to ensure efficient and effective services is rendered.
  • Maintains good housekeeping around area of works, storages and workshop.

PLC & SCADA TECHNICIAN

Minimum Requirements:
  • N6 in Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering coupled with Electrician/ Instrument Mechanician Trade test and a minimum of five years’ relevant maintenance experience.
  • Or a National Diploma in Process Instrumentation/ Electrical Engineering (Heavy), and minimum of five years’ relevant maintenance experience with trade test as Electrician/ Instrument Mechanician will be advantageous.
  • Programmable Logic Controls (PLC’s) intermediate course or a preferable Clear SCADA Certified Professional/ PSX Certified Professional/ Engineer will be advantageous
  • Computer literacy (MS Office and SAP advantageous)
  • Code 08 driver’s license with own transport

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work on Programmable Logic Controls (PLC’s) preferable Schneider Electric (Quantum and Modicon).
  • Work on Programmable Logic Controls (PLC’s) software preferable Unity Pro or Concept
  • Work on SCADA and other control systems preferably Schneider Electric Vijeo Citect.
  • Work on DC & AC Drives preferable Rockwell Powerflex, WEG CFW 11, ABB ACS 600 and Schneider Electric Altivar.
  • Work on Flow, Pressure, Level, Temperature Transmitters commonly used in the Water industries.
  • Work on Analytical instruments, Vibration sensors, Load cells commonly used in the Water industries.
  • Work on Electrical protection systems.
  • Work on industrial communication methodologies (RS-232, Modbus, Modbus Plus, Profibus, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Work on SSE Telemetry systems.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment in accordance with the OHS Act and relevant standards (e.g. SANS/SABS, ISO, IEC, etc.).
  • Implement the SHEQ policy and procedures to ensure adherence and safety of staff and equipment.
  • Be able to act in the capacity of a leadership level and perform standby duties.
