Position : IT Auditor
Department : Internal Audit Services
Location : Head Office
Level : Task Level 15/ D2
Reporting : Chief Audit Executive
The purpose of the position is to provide assurance to management with regards to controls, Information security and IT governance process to ensure that Internal IT audit annual plan is completely, efficiently and effectively carried out and that the audits comforts to standards for professional practice on internal auditing.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform initial project planning and detailed planning.
  • Draft audit program per project in line with the risk assessment
  • Monitoring and project management
  • Perform secretarial and administrative duties.
  • Develop and maintain the organisation Audit Plan
  • Participate in IT projects implementation
  • Participate in system development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Fraud prevention, detection and investigations
  • Plan the annual and quarterly IT audits and allocated audits, taking into account the scope of work, resource requirements and approach.
  • Facilitate and assist management in identifying, assessing,
  • management and prioritizing business and IT risks
  • Establish IT Audit section and resource, train and develop IT staff
  • Assume leadership strategy for the IT Audit section
  • Provide quality and timely IT consulting services to management
  • Implement automated IT audit tools
  • Continuous research and adopt leading edge IT audit processes

Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12.
  • B degree or equivalent in IT or computer auditing, accounting, internal auditing, auditing or IT.
  • Relevant post qualifications, CISA or other relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
  • Must be a member of relevant professional body (e.g. lnstitute of lnternal Auditors, etc.)
  • At least 8 years post article experience in IT or computer auditing (3 years at management level will be an added advantage).
 
Competencies (Knowledge, skills and attributes):
  • Strong management and planning skills
  • Knowledge of CAAT’s and other IT automated tools
  • Knowledge of IT auditing standards
  • Strong knowledge of business and IT risks, controls and IT governance
  • Knowledge and ability to apply COBIT framework and other frameworks (e.g. COSO)
  • Experience in information system security
  • Experience in SAP, fleet (FROG ,BIS) application review
  • Familiar with MIS packages
  • Understanding of relevant Acts (e.g. MFMA)
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Must be an excellent leader and team player
  • Strong exposure in fraud prevention, detection and investigations
  • Understanding of “service delivery” concept
  • Good analytical, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Customer service focus
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
