Introduction
The Petroleum Oil and Gas Corporation of South Africa (PetroSA): The Petroleum Oil and Gas Corporation of South Africa (SOC) Limited (PetroSA) is the national oil company of South Africa and is registered as a commercial entity under South African law. PetroSA is a subsidiary of the Central Energy Fund (CEF), which is wholly owned by the State and reports to the Department of Energy. The company holds a portfolio of assets that spans the petroleum value chain, with all operations run according to world-class safety and environmental standards.
 
Job Purpose:
Managing existing relationships with key strategic customers maintaining sales, profitability and growth. In addition, the Key Account Manager is responsible to conduct high-level negotiations and develop strategic solutions with key accounts in order to promote PetroSA products and brand. On behalf of the organization, develop robust joint business plans, and acts as a liaison between PetroSA and the customer.  
 
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the implementation of the key accounts' strategy in terms of the sales and marketing in line with the Corporate Strategy to ensure continued market penetration and expansion of sales.
  • Maintain and enhance existing strategic customer relationships to ensure high customer satisfaction, monitor operational performance, improve debtor days, identify new business opportunities, ensure continued partnership with customers and build relationships outside the more formal business environment.
  • Manage and coordinate the evaluation and reporting on national and international market trends and statistics that can be implemented to ensure best practice interventions,
  • processes and procedures are introduced into the commercial business.
  • Manage and take responsibility for sales results and building a platform for the maintenance and growth of the company’s business in the medium to long term.
  • Develop, update and manage the Key Account Plan for the customer so as to drive a proactive agenda.
  • Responsible for driving appropriate actions to initiate and/or implement plans as detailed in the account plan including presenting possible joint alternative solutions.
  • Present PetroSA value proposition directly to customers.
  • Build and maintain long-term strategic partnerships with key customers.
  • Identify account growth opportunities and revenue streams from existing accounts.
  • Liaise with the respective Departments / Division including Finance to ensure that customer account is up to date with regards to customer orders, deliveries, invoicing collection of payments as well
  • Interface with respective supporting department to realize optimum value for PetroSA.
  • Look for tender opportunities, submit approved response bids, and operationalize successful bids with G2G and B2B
  • Manage and monitor the development and implementation of the key accounts customer plan to improve sales revenue and profitability.
  • Build and execute partnerships with strategic customers to ensure their long-term retention and relationship with PetroSA.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • : Commercial/Engineering/Sciences Tertiary Qualification
 
Minimum Experience:
  • 5 years related experience within a Marketing/Sales/Customer relationship management/Commercial environment.
  • Have an understanding of Petrochemical production and sales.
 
Knowledge & Competencies:
  • Knowledge of the State-Owned Enterprises business operations
  • Experience with key accounts in B2B market space with focus in Mining, Transport, Agriculture and Petroleum Wholesalers
