AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST 
All-Inclusive Salary R398 836 – R627 250 
 
 
MIINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 
• NQF Level 6 / Three years diploma in the Performing Arts / Marketing / Public Relations or related / similar qualification; 
• 3 years’ experience in theatre audience development / commercial theatre or similar environment; 
• Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work irregular hours. 
 
JOB SPECIFICATIONS 
• Develop and implement tailored audience development plans for long-term benefit and effectiveness; 
• Develop and implement dynamic audience retention strategies for long-term benefit and effectiveness; 
• Plan and execute brand activations and showcases; 
• Manage project logistics and related costs responsibly; 
• Prepare reports and debriefing documents outlining project performance / effectiveness and identified areas of improvement; 
• Develop and implement tailored communication plans to promote audience attendance at Artistic productions; 
• Closely monitor audience demands, sentiments and perceptions regarding the brand’s endeavours and ensure that they are represented in reports, to be addressed timeously and effectively; 
• Develop proposals for new opportunities to enhance audience development efforts; 
• Invite stakeholders and audiences for tours of the PACOFS premises, exposing them to “the world of performing arts”; 
• Organise demonstrations of venue capabilities to attract audiences and encourage venue bookings for various types of functions (brand activations, launches, weddings, year-end functions, graduations etc.); 
• Proactively seek partnership opportunities with creative arts community groups and organisations to encourage widespread provincial participation in the local performing arts industry. 
 


Please note: The above-mentioned salary range is all-inclusive and the entry level is only negotiable if the incumbent’s current earning is above the entry level. Also note that the appointed person will sometimes be expected to work after hours and on weekends, but within the statutory number of hours, without additional compensation. Further note that this position does not qualify for overtime pay.
