Nquthu Local Municipality (KZ 242) invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following position:
Position : Cultural and Heritage Practitioner (Re-advertisement)
Salary : Task Grade 10 of the category 1 Municipality, plus Benefits such as Medical Aid, Pension Fund and 13th Cheque
Type of Contract : Permanent
Place of Work : Council Chambers
Key Requirements:
National Diploma/Bachelor Degree: Arts/ Heritage/ Tourism/Education/ Music or relevant NQF Level 6 Qualifications
Computer Literacy.
A Valid Driver’s License or progressive state of readiness.
Have good verbal and written communication skills (IsiZulu and English).
Minimum of 3 years working experience in same environment.
Ability to work well independently and with a team.
Key Performance Areas
Identify, nurture and promote emerging artists and crafters.
Coordinate and manage heritage projects, performing arts, and visual arts and craft projects.
Provide inputs for strategic documents and budget inputs for operational documents.
Assist in the formulation and implementation of cultural, heritage and arts policies and strategies
Implement, monitor and support heritage and cultural projects.
Coordinates and promotes community arts, culture and heritage programs and events.
Establish relevant fora, empower, manage them and monitor their operations
Advancing and encouraging community to investment in cultural and heritage programs.
Research and update current cultural and heritage program resources and interests within the community.
Doing marketing, fundraising and partnerships programs.
Perform administrative and related functions.

Candidate will be subjected to security vetting. Canvassing with councillors or officials in respect of these positions will lead to disqualification of the applicants.
