The National Library of South Africa wishes to make the following Appointment at its Pretoria Campus
Project Co-ordinator: Marketing and Advocacy
(Three-year contract)

Salary scale: R439 898.00 – R 511 532.00
The objectives of the National Library of South Africa (NLSA) are to contribute to socio-economic, cultural, educational, scientific and innovative development by collecting, recording, preserving and making available the national documentary heritage and promoting an awareness and appreciation thereof, by fostering information literacy, and by facilitating access to the world’s information resources.
The NLSA invites applications from suitably qualified persons for appointment on a contract basis in a position of a Project Coordinator: Marketing and Advocacy. The successful individuals will be based at the NLSA’s Pretoria Campus of the National Library of South Africa, and will report to the Manager: LIS Special Projects.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Develop and implement advocacy and marketing plans for the LIS special projects.
Support the national and provincial Department of Sport, Arts and Culture’s initiatives to enhance a culture of reading in South Africa.
Collect and record Conditional Grant related data, ensuring quality of the data and providing verification sources.
Monitor and co-ordinate the Conditional Grant and other LIS Special Projects.
Overall co-ordination of the Conditional Grant activities in liaison with the project manager.
Facilitate stakeholder management, communications and promotion of the Conditional Grant projects.
Maintain standards of all work according to agreed levels.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIANCE
A three (3) year recognised bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent (a higher qualification will be added advantage)
At least two years of experience in the Library and Information Services (LIS) environment
Project management skills (project management qualification will be an added advantage)
Knowledge and understanding of project monitoring and evaluation
Excellent people management, conflict management and dynamic problem solving skills
Communication skills (verbal and written)
Innovative, analytical and organisation skills
Quality orientation, accuracy, reliability and risk management competencies
Knowledge of the Library and Information Services sector
A valid driver’s license
