TEMPORARY POST- COUNCIL APPOINTMENT
POSITION: EMPLOYEE HEALTH AND WELLNESS PRACTITIONER (SL 7)

DURATION: 1 YEAR CONTRACT
SALARY NOTCH: R325 101 PLUS 37% IN LIEU OF BENEFITS
REQUIREMENTS: A National Senior Certificate / Grade 12/ NCV Level 4. A recognised 3-year Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, B-Psychology, and BA in Social Work majoring in psychology will be an added advantage. At least 2-3 years’ practical experience in the Employee Health and Wellness environment. Knowledge on Employee Health and Wellness Integrated Strategic Framework in the Public Service. Sound knowledge of all four EHW Pillars, an in-depth knowledge in conducting counselling, psycho-education, and trauma-debriefing. Understanding of all PILLIR processes and COID Act. Good Interpersonal relations, Communication (written, presentation, verbal and listening). Analytical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills, maintain confidentiality and uphold code of ethics. Understanding of Public Service legislation, regulations and policies. Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, Good report writing skills. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
DUTIES: Administer the Employee Health and Wellness Programme, Assist with the planning, coordination and implementation of all Health and Wellness interventions, Assist with the evaluation of the impact of employee health and wellness programmes, Provide education and awareness on health and wellness related issues, Provide advice and guidance to management and staff on EHW related matters, Ensure the monitoring and evaluation of the EHW, cases within the college, Promote health awareness and the facilitation of health related events, activities and interventions (Wellness Day, HIV/AIDS, etc). Conduct counselling, psycho-education, and trauma-debriefing. Facilitate and monitor the implementation of any required recommendations made by the service providers. Ability to unpack and analyse the implementation of incapacity leaves and the management of sick leave trends, compiling submission on ill-health Retirement for the employees. Managing wellness centre, providing First-Aid to employees and management administration of Injury on duty. Active case management. Effective record management. Compiling and writing EHW reports, system monitoring tools and submissions/internal and external memorandums. Perform any other related function as requested by Supervisor.

Duration :1 Year Contract
Requirements:
Must be in possession of a Grade 12/National Senior Certificate,
Recognized National Diploma in Human Resource Management/Development (NQF level 6) or equivalent qualification.
1-2 years’ relevant experience in Human Resource development environment
Knowledge and understanding of coordination and facilitation of training
Knowledge and understanding of application of Employment Equity Act
Knowledge and understanding of PMDS and IQMS Coordination and facilitation of training programmes. Planning and organizing. Communication (Good verbal and written). Computer Literacy. Teamwork. Driver’s license would serve as an added advantage.
Duties: Assist in Implementing all training and development programmes in line with approved plans. Assist in the development and implementation of Work Skills Plan. Assist in processing bursaries in line with the departmental policy. Assist in the Coordination and the implementation of Performance Management Development System, Integrated Quality Management System and coordinate training for College staff. Assist in facilitating the development of job descriptions. Provide assistance on the development, review and implementation of Employment Equity Plan for the College.
