Mkhondo Municipality, which is a gateway to the Province of Mpumalanga from Kwa-Zulu Natal and Swaziland, seeks to appoint highly motivated self-starters and visionaries to the extremely challenging positions of:
 
 
MAYORALTY AND COMMUNICATIONS
MANAGER OFFICE OF THE SPEAKER
Remuneration:  R 354 681 per annum (all inclusive)
Ref:  MOS/13/18
 
Minimum Requirements:National Diploma or higher in Public Administration or Social Science • 3 year relevant working experience • Understanding of Local Government sector legislation • Valid Code B driver's license.
 
Other Requirements: Understanding of council operations and delegation of powers • Thorough knowledge of Local Government structures, including ubuKhosi and Traditional Leaders protocols and Ward Committees • Competency in the use of computers • Ability to maintain high confidentiality with the Political Leadership • Ability to produce reports and presentations of exceptionally high standard • People management skills • Written and verbal communications skills • Complex problem solving and critical thinking skills.

 
Duties: Advise and support the Speaker on administrative and strategic decisions • Assist and support the Speaker in executing the legislative responsibilities and any other duties and powers delegated by Council • Ensure that all documentation arising out of Council meetings e.g. reports and Council resolutions are registered and attended to and that Council resolutions are implemented accordingly • Manages specific key performance areas around the functioning of the Speaker's Office • Manage and coordinate functioning of oversight structures, systems and processes • Implement programs for the office of the Speaker • Provision and promotion of Community participation services and liaison • Management and responsible for all municipal Council support activities • Facilitate the compilation and the distribution of all Council Committee's agendas and minutes.

MANAGER SOCIAL SERVICES

Minimum Requirements:National Diploma or higher in Social Sciences or equivalent • 3 year relevant working experience • Understanding of Local Government sector legislation • Valid Code B driver's license.
 
Other Requirements:Competency in the use of computers • Ability to maintain high confidentiality • Ability to produce reports on a monthly and quarterly basis • People management skills • Written and verbal communications skills • Complex problem solving and critical thinking skills.
 
Duties: Manage activities of a major service area such as public or operational services • Ensure long range planning for library collections and automated resources such as technical resource for staff • Assign and manage activities of a major library service are such as public services including extension, outreach, youth and cultural services, or operational services including automated systems and collection management • Manage and oversee the library's automation program • Provide guidance to personnel on the application of procedures • Provide responses to the audit during audit meetings and present information and records to support content • Implement common policies amongst different sporting codes and drawing up blue print for each code for common operational guidelines • Interacting with relevant forums (Sports federations, Provincial, Government Department, Sports clubs and sports council) • Ensuring sound stakeholder relationship management for sustainable social developmental needs • Ensuring compliance with and the implementation of municipal strategic directives as reflected in the IDP.
