ECP DRAWING LECTURER (P8) - REF: EM16 
 
Key Performance Areas: 
• Lecturing and assessment of students 
• Perform academic administrative duties 
• Contribute to the research undertaken by and within the department and the faculty 
• Liaise with industries and community 
• Participate in curriculum development focused on implementation of the application of engineering knowledge 
• Develop learning materials 
• Participate in community – based projects within the field of Engineering 
• Perform other duties delegated by the HOD 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
• Master’s qualification in Mechanical Engineering, with a Bachelor's qualification in the same field 
• Three years lecturing experience. 
• Evidence of research experience. 
 
Recommendations:
• Registration towards a Doctoral Degree in Mechanical will be a strong advantage. 
• Experience in the use of appropriate Engineering Drawing software 
 
Competencies:
• Excellent communication and presentation skills 
• Good technical or professional knowledge and skills 
• Ability to work independently. 
• Good organizational skills. 
• Advanced computer literacy. 
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. 
 
 
Salary Scale: R464 880.00 to R717 852.00 basic salary per annum.

• Diploma (or National diploma) in Mechanical Engineering 
• Two years of relevant industrial experience in the mechanical engineering laboratory environment. 
 
Recommendations:
• Extensive experience in commissioning/maintenance of mechanical engineering Equipment. 
• Must be familiar with motor mechanical engineering. 
 
Competencies:
• Computer literacy. 
• Good verbal and written communication skills. 
• Good organizational skills. 
• Ability to work independently.

REGISTRAR-FIVE YEAR PERFORMANCE BASED-FIXED TERM CONTRACT - P3 
REF: AA02 
 
The Registrar reports to the Vice-Chancellor & Principal. He/she is Secretary to the Council, Senate, Convocation and Executive Management (EM), and provides service and advice so that these bodies fulfil their roles in accordance with the MUT statute and the Higher Education (HE) Act. 
The Registrar ensures that the delegations of authority allow the Faculty Boards, the Senate and the Executive Management fulfil their delegated mandates as provided for by Council. The Registrar is head of the University's academic administration and has overall responsibility for the maintenance of student records, certification, student recruitment, admissions, registrations, and examinations of the University. 
The Registrar has responsibility for compliance matters in the University.
 
Key Performance Areas: 
• Strategy development and execution 
• Governance, policy development and regulatory compliance 
• Academic Administration 
• Quality assurance and risk management 
• Management of human & financial resources in the division 
• Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
• Master’s Degree (A Master’s degree in Public Administration, Educational Administration, Communication or Law will be an added advantage). 
• 10 years of relevant experience at a tertiary institution, of which 5 years should have been in a senior management role. 
 
Competencies:
• Sound knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to higher education. 
• Knowledge of institutional statutes and regulations that govern instructional, student support and other education and training programmes. 
• Excellent communication skills. 
• Demonstrated skill in respectful, sensitive communication with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, language, gender, and abilities. 
• The ability to work with a diverse academic and non-academic team. 
• Negotiations Skills 
• Leadership Skills 
• An understanding of the Higher Education (HE) Act and reporting regulations for HE Institutions. 
• Knowledge of the Integrated Tertiary Software (ITS) System.

​FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES 

DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION 
POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP 
MULTILINGUALISM AND TRANSLANGUAGING IN EDUCATION 
ONE YEAR FIXED CONTRACT 
 
Key Performance Areas: 
• Publish manuscripts in reputable journals and peer-reviewed conference proceedings in this field. 
• Ability to assist colleagues pursuing their postgraduate research and/or collaborating with other research fellows. 
• Involvement in initiating and managing research projects and securing external funding. 
• Assisting in overall management and contribution to the various activities of the research projects. 
• Initiating, developing and/or being involved in research networks, collaborations (i.e. formulating spin-offs, and joint ventures), institutional partnerships and the organization of research events. 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
• A PhD in either Linguistics, Language in Education, Translation, Literature or any related qualification obtained in not more than past five years. 
• South African citizens and permanent residents will have priority, but it is open to international scholars. 
• A solid knowledge and interest in the implementation of language policy in education and society. 
• At least one recently published paper in peer-reviewed and/or DHET accredited journals. 
• Should not hold a full-time academic or professional employment during this fellowship. 
• Experience or interest in postgraduate student/staff mentorship. 
• Should not reside outside South Africa during this fellowship. 
 
Competencies:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
• Computer literacy and related technologically advanced research skills. 
 
 
Stipend: R300 000 per annum (tax-exempt). 
 
The Fellowship may be renewed for a further one year, subject to satisfactory performance, as attested to by the Host in the first year, and subject to availability of funding.
