The KwaDukuza Municipality seeks to fill the following positions and accordingly invites applications from persons who meet the requirements as indicated. Please note that the post title and post identification number (KZ292.) MUST be indicated on your application which MUST be accompanied by certified copies of your qualifications, identity document and driver’s licence where applicable. Applicants are also advised to ensure that their applications address the selection criteria in terms of qualifications, experience and any other requirements as set out in the relevant advertisement as shortlisting will be based on these selection criteria.

CASHIER CONTROLLER

Requirements Gr.12 at NQF level 4, National Diploma in Accounting or equivalent 3 year qualification at NQF Level 6, Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel). 2-3 years relevant experience in administration and general accounting experience.
 
Duties • Supervision of Cashiers and Cashier related functions.
• Addressing issues with respect to receipting, checking postings and extracting accounts information and communicating outcomes of investigation to the customer.
• Downloading of bank statement and third-party payments for receipting.
• Providing statistics on electronic payments/receipts as and when required.
• Implementing controls with regards to the receipting of revenue and fines to the correct general ledger votes and submission of fines paid to the traffic department.
• Maintain control book with regards to safekeeping of cashier takings and key register.
• Ensuring timeous receipting of staff deductions.
• Reconciliation and updating of the unallocated deposits register.
• Updating of the daily cash register schedule.
• Ensuring all income entries on bank statement are receipted, monitor staff compliance with the code of conduct, verify receipt issued against electronic payments schedules, liaising with satellite offices regarding balancing and cash takings.
