KNYSNA LOCAL MUNICIPALITY
As part of building human capital and growing its own skills base the Knysna Municipality, in partnership with Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority (CHIETA), is offering opportunities to unemployed youth who wish to participate in the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme for a period of 18 months.
WORK INTERGRATED LEARNING (WIL) x 20
Applications are invited from TVET College Students with the following qualifications / and students who completed their coursework but still need in-service training.
• National Diploma / N6 Public Management
• National Diploma / N6 Management Assistant
• National Diploma / N6 Business Management
• National Diploma / N6 Human Resources
CRITERIA
Applicants must be permanent residents within the area of Knysna Municipality and must be a South African citizen.
Applicants from previously disadvantaged groups will be given preference.

NATIONAL RURAL YOUTH SERVICE CORPS (NARYSEC) PROGRAMME
PROVINCE: WESTERN CAPE
ADVERTISEMENT: RECRUITMENT OF NARYSEC YOUTH 2026/27
The NARYSEC programme, which was established in September 2010, is one of the contributions of the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development (DLRRD) towards alleviating the high levels of unemployment amongst young people in rural areas.
Linked to the National Development Plan (Vision 2030) and the Comprehensive Rural Development Programme (CRDP), the strategic outcomes of the NARYSEC programme are:
a) Skilled rural youth ready to take up economic opportunities;
b) Economically active youth in rural areas; and
c) Youth-led enterprises contributing to the economy of the country.
Successful applicants will be required to be away from home for a period of 9 weeks to attend the NARYSEC Induction Programme and the Youth Leadership Development Programme (YLDP).
REQUIREMENTS:
• Between 18 and 35 years of age
• In possession of Grade 12, medically fit, Drivers licence advantageous (Code C1 with PrDP).
• Not claustrophobic, not acrophobic .
• Be able to run 2.4km in less than 11-12 min
• Unemployed and currently not enrolled with any other institution of higher learning.
• No criminal record or case pending on your name (provide the police clearance).
• Must provide Medical certificate
• Residing in Knysna Municipal Area.
• Registered with SARS (provide proof)
• Able to speak 2 of 3 languages of the Western Cape.
• Prepared to study outside Western Cape.
The following skills areas are prioritised for this recruitment:
• Province to provide skills areas; Fire Fighting.
• Explicit details of economic areas of recruitment, learning programmes and qualifications required for a specific job opportunities and enterprise opportunities will be placed in all the target local municipalities and traditional authorities.
The nature and duration of the training interventions will be informed by the skills requirements of the identified economic opportunities.
NB: Applications are expected from youth coming from: Knysna Local Municipality in the Garden Route District.
