REMUNERATION: R939 900 TOTAL COST TO COMPANY

PURPOSE
Responsible for the successful delivery of the Capital Investment Program on time and within budget, including overseeing the planning, organisation, implementation and monitoring or a series of projects, where the day-to-day management is carried out by the Project Managers under his / her guidance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage all control projects. Ensure that the project purpose, scope, objectives, constraints and risks are fully understood, documented, and complied with. Prepare the departmental contributions to the Johannesburg Water Strategic Plan and the Annual Business Plans. Develop and review long-term operational plans for the department. Evaluate and prioritise risks and assess the options for accommodating the risks. Develop departmental management plans and authorise implementation of the plans. Develop systems and procedures for the management and control of the departmental performance and deliverables. Ensure the development and implementation of systems, policies and procedures for the department.
Determine appropriate control systems and processes. Participate in committee’s to facilitate the review and implementation of long-term projects. Ensure that all practices conform to the necessary legal requirements such as Health and Safety, Environmental, legislation and other requirements as governed through Act. Maintain performance control of adherence to contract warranty and guarantee. Conduct project reviews and re-plans to improve delivery and performance. Ensure proper closeout of projects. Manage and monitor the Project Managers to ensure quality control. Ensure financial management and Certify Payments. Facilitate the appointment process for consultants. Manage all procurement process of the Unit. Manage all human resource activities related to this position
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential qualifications and experience:
• BSc (Civil) or BTech (Civil) degree. (NQF 7). Registered Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech (Eng.).
• 8 years’ experience in civil engineering of which 3 years project management experience. 2 years managerial experience.
• Code B Drivers License
