(SALARY: R20 633.74 - R27 157.85) Basic Salary excluding benefits
 
JOB PURPOSE
Under direct supervision, review and coordinate routine, purchase requests in accordance with the relevant legislation and the company policies and procedures.
 
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review, approve, and process purchasing requests such as purchase requisitions and purchase orders for goods, services or works to ensure compliance with the company's purchasing procedures, the municipal SCM regulations, and user requirements. Prepare bids and proposals, supporting spreadsheets, comparisons. recommendations, and justifications. Conduct bid openings: obtain quotes when indicated. Assist in tender opening as and when required. Interact with vendors and departments regarding procurement procedures and status of orders. Maintain and update product catalogues. vendor files, and price lists for assigned commodity groups. Maintain records in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines. May validate, reconcile, and process receiving reports, vendor invoices, and other payment documents. May expedite deliveries, maintain inventories, and monitor usage inconsistencies, price changes, and vendor back orders. Perform procurement functions on financial system. Assist with supplier briefing systems. Effective filing and record keeping of supply chain documentation. Supplier relationship management and supplier rotation and Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
 
 
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Matric /Grade 12
• B Degree: Finance or Supply Chain Management / B Tech in Supply Chain Management.
• + 3 years' experience as a supply chain / procurement officer.
 
ADDED ADVANTAGE REQUIREMENTS
• Extensive tender /bid management experience with knowledge of the MFMA and other legislation applicable to the Joburg Market as a municipal entity.
• CIPC 5 Qualification
• Minimum Competencies for SCM Officials as prescribed in PFMA/MFMA
 
TECHNICAL SKILLS
• Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information
• Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns
• Ability to analyze purchasing requests/orders for compliance with company procedures and the municipal SCM regulations.
