Joburg City Theatres (JCT) is an entity of the City of Johannesburg that operates Joburg Theatre (Braamfontein), Roodepoort Theatre and Soweto Theatre in order provide the integrated management of world class African theatre venues and a high quality entertaining, innovative and inclusive program which serves the diverse communities of the City of Joburg.

Designation: Digital Content and PR Coordinator (Ref: DCPRC/21)
Salary: R 334,368 - 401,929 per annum – Negotiable based on proven experience
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited
Work with COO, Artistic Director, and Producer to develop and execute an online content campaign with overarching theatre programming themes ● Create and maintain an ongoing work plan / timeline covering promotions for online content ● Manage the Website/Social Media Platforms and ensure they stay up-to-date ● Liaise with Social Media consultant to ensure the quality of all content is maintained to a high standard and drive engagement with audience and increase brand awareness ● Analyze and report on key content initiatives ● Review all content that goes out to clients to ensure it reflects brand tone of voice and resonates with JCT audience ● Coordinate regular content updates and ongoing maintenance of the website, helping to identify and optimize content themes and opportunities ● Support in producing and maintaining the online calendar, managing workflow and deadlines ● Coordinate day-to-day public relations activities which includes the effective distribution of marketing material to media houses and the securing of media interviews for productions ● Liaising with media houses about the theatre as an entertainment destination ● Develop public relations plans and campaigns that support the theatre’s strategy, audience development objectives ● Develop and maintain a positive theatre brand reputation both in-house and externally● Writing and/or coordinating all press releases to be submitted for approval by the Marketing Manager ● Collate all media coverage for reporting in the weekly reports and filing in close out reports for each production ● Build and maintain excellent working relationships with all relevant external media stakeholders ● Be capable of monitoring and coordinating the measurement of all return on online and public relations activities.

Minimum Requirements:
Matric plus 10 years’ experience in a public relations / events management / brand awareness / audience / customer development ● Experience in managing the production of branded and event collateral, campaign initiatives, blogs, website copy, social media posts, press releases, paid media and internal communications in line with business requirements ● Public Relations Management experience should include having worked with media houses, bloggers, radio stations and other media practitioners as well as having played a public relations role in the implementation of a major event or brand ● Computer Literacy ● Experience in website management, Google Drive, Microsoft Word and Excel ● Strong writing and communication skills ● Ability to work independently and with a team ● Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and be a self-starter ● Willingness to work unsociable hours.
