INKOMATI-USUTHU CATCHMENT MANAGEMENT AGENCY (IUCMA)
 
The Inkomati-Usuthu Catchment Management Agency is a water resources management institution established in terms of the National Water Act (Act 36 of 1998) to perform sustainable and equitable integrated water resource management within the Inkomati-Usuthu Water Management Area (WMA) in Mpumalanga Province.

EXECUTIVE: WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (NELSPRUIT, HEAD OFFICE)
Remuneration Package within salary band E1 (Ref no: IUCMA/01/22)

Requirements: Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Water Resource Management or related field. Ten (10) years’ experience in Integrated Water Resource Management at Senior Management level. Registration with SACNASP as a professional Scientist is an added advantage. A valid driver’s license.
 
Knowledge, skills and competencies required: Integrated Water Resources Management. Knowledge of Hydrological and water resources management. Contracts Management. Project Management. Programme Management. Conflict Resolution, Public service administration processes, Strategic capability and leadership, people management and empowerment, service delivery and innovation, negotiation, and communications skills (verbal & written), Report writing. Ability to work in a diverse environment. Openness and transparency. National Water Act and other relevant legislation e.g., NEMA. Water Resources Planning. Water Resources Operations. Compliance Monitoring & Enforcement. Resource Quality Monitoring. Institution and Participation. Water Use Authorization. Validation and Verification. WARMS system.
 
Key Performance Areas: Planning, Coordination, development and implementation of policies and strategies. Review and update Catchment Management strategy. Management and enhancement of strategic relationships and partnerships with local and international business partners. Strategic reporting. Management of IUCMA resources. Development and implementation of performance strategies for effective Water Resource Management within the catchment management area of operation. Implement effective and efficient People Management strategies.

Suitable candidates will be subjected to a personnel suitability check (criminal record check, citizenship verification, financial check, qualification verification and previous employment verification). The successful candidate will be appointed on a probation of six (6) months and then permanent should all conditions of the probation be satisfied.
