INDEPENDENT DEVELOPMENT TRUST (IDT)
 
The IDT is a Schedule 2 Public Entity, established as a development management agency. Its primary role is to influence, support and add value to the national agenda. The IDT is mandated to measurably impact on the eradication of poverty and to improve the quality of life of poor, rural and marginalised communities. To assist us in achieving this, we wish to appoint dynamic individuals in the following positions: 
 
 
POST : SENIOR MANAGER: PROJECT ACCOUNTING 
JOB LEVEL : DL 
REGION : NATIONAL OFFICE 
LOCATION : PRETORIA 
DURATION : PERMANENT 
PORTFOLIO : FSU 
 
PURPOSE : To lead and manage the Project Accounting function across the organisation ensuring efficient and effective financial management and reporting for programmes and projects. 
 
REPORTING : GM - Finance 
 
REQUIREMENTS : A minimum of the following:  A relevant Bachelors Degree in Finance e.g. B.Com /B.Compt or Equivalent, Completion of Articles of Clerkship with an accredited accounting and/or auditing firm, CA (SA), A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience of which 3 years must have been at a management or senior specialist level within a financial management / accounting environment, Experience in Project Accounting, Great Plains Accounting System and MS project will be an added advantage. 
Competencies:Project Accounting, Financial Reporting, Financial Systems, Financial Ratio Analysis, Accounting Packages, A good knowledge of MS Projects, A good knowledge of FRX, Knowledge of PFMA

DUTIES : Programme and projects accounting records maintenance and reconciliation, Programme and project Financial Information Systems (FIS) development and maintenance, Client programme and projects financial reporting management and oversight, Programme payments management and monitoring, Programme funds management, Sub-unit financial management and governance, Sub-unit leadership and management.
