Purpose of the job
The Senior Systems Administrator will play a key role in the design, planning, execution and installation of the current/future infrastructure to support new applications and technologies. Support architecture upgrades and optimization to network servers, operating systems, applications and services. Responsible for backup integrity and recovery coordination and planning. Responsible for LAN/WAN Infrastructure.

Purpose of the job
The Senior Systems Administrator will play a key role in the design, planning, execution and installation of the current/future infrastructure to support new applications and technologies. Support architecture upgrades and optimization to network servers, operating systems, applications and services. Responsible for backup integrity and recovery coordination and planning. Responsible for LAN/WAN Infrastructure.
Key Outputs: The successful candidate will report to the Network Operations Manager and the responsibilities include: â— Administer and manage a network server environment comprised of Microsoft and Cisco architecture â— Evaluate vendor, software, IT Security and connectivity solutions to integrate with current or new product initiatives â— Microsoft and Linux support, Microsoft Active Directory Design, Implementation and support, Skype for Business implementation and administration; Security system design & implementation â— Disaster Recovery System Design & Implementation â— PKI administration â— CISCO Identity Services Engine support and administration â— Implementation of HA Solutions, Experience with Hyper-V and VMware; CISCO Network design implementation and support.
Qualifications and Experience: â— Matric plus & IT Degree 3 years (NQF L7) in Computer Science or in ICT â— MCSE/MCSA Certifications â— CCNP, MCP & Systems Administrator will be added advantage â— 5 to 8 years IT Technical experience in a Microsoft environment â— 5 to 8 years Technical experience supporting Linux based systems â— 5 to 8 years Technical experience supporting a VMWare and Hyper -V Cluster â— 2 + years Project Management experience â— Microsoft SQL and Share Point skills essential; Oracle skills â— McAfee anti-virus and HP SAN experience will be an added advantage.
