The independent Communication Authority of South Africa (ICASA) is a public body responsible for the regulation of the communications industry in South Africa, as mandated by the ICASA Act No 13 of 2000 and Electronic Communications Act, No 36 of 2005. ICASA hereby invites applications for suitably qualified and experienced persons for appointment to the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee (HR & REMCO) located at its Head Office in Sandton, Johannesburg, for a period of three (3) years subject to review on recommendation by Council.
Prospective candidates must have an understanding of the ICT sector and best practice methods in remuneration and human resources trends, in both the private and public sector.

Prospective candidates must have an understanding of the ICT sector and best practice methods in remuneration and human resources trends, in both the private and public sector.
Requirements: A Bachelorâs degree in Human Resources or similar fields and a Post Graduate degree would be an advantage. Candidates must be registered with the Global Remuneration Professionals or either some human resources related professional body. Extensive experience in remuneration and human resources practices and best practice methods in remuneration and human resources determination. Sound knowledge of private and public sector practices will be strongly recommended. A proven record in negotiating reward packages for senior management with an extensive consulting background.
The duties and responsibilities of HR & REMCO Members will include, but not limited to the following: Advising on the appropriate criteria that link the remuneration and rewards of management and staff to performance outputs. Making recommendations to Council in relation to the adjustments of the remuneration packages on an annual basis. Making recommendations on general guidelines to be applied in all annual and any interim salary reviews and considering those guidelines specifically on the basis of industry benchmarks emanating from remuneration surveys. Monitor and review ICASAâs compliance with good corporate governance with regard to Human Resources and Remuneration matters. Review proposed changes to Human Resource policies.
Remuneration: HR & REMCO members will be remunerated in accordance with rates as determined by National Treasury from time to time.
Selection Procedure: Short-listed candidates will be invited for interviews; to be conducted by a panel appointed by ICASA Council. It will be the prerogative of the Council to make final appointments upon recommendation by the selection committee.
