The Hessequa Municipality requires the services of a suitable person in the following permanent vacancy:
CHIEF CLERK: REVENUE - RIVERSDALE
(Ref: F039) T8 – R238 018 to R308 973 gross salary per annum
Requirements: Grade 12 with Mathematics and Accounting • Valid Code B driver’s license • Computer literate • Able to communicate in two of the official languages of the Western Cape • Two years’ relevant experience required.
Additional Requirements: Good human relations, interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to give attention to detail • High level of responsibility.
Duties: Process and verify debtor transactions • Verification, updating and reconciliation of EFT/Auxiliary/Third Party payments • Administration and reconciliation of unallocated deposits • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders • Compile and submit reports • Prepare journals • Administration and processing of debit orders • Balance cash receipts • Perform relief cashier duties • Filing • Handle enquiries.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT: PROPERTY RATES AND TAXES - RIVERSDALE
(Ref: F046) T13 – R473 465 to R614 587 gross salary per annum
Requirements: Relevant three year tertiary qualification (NQF6 – 360 credits) preferably with financial accounting as major • Valid Code B driver’s license • Computer literate • Good communication, interpersonal and management skills • Able to communicate in two of the official languages of the Western Cape • Five years’ or more relevant experience required which includes two years of supervisory experience.
Duties: Manage the administration of the Valuation Section to ensure that valuation rolls are executed according to the Municipal Property Rates Act, Rates Policies, Rates By-Law and Regulations • Coordinate and control the property rates and owner borne costs • Control the implementation, capturing and testing of approved tariffs • Perform monthly reconciliations • Manage the Property Rates and Owner Borne Costs • Ensure that debtor accounts are updated and correct • Compile Financial Statements • Expenditure and Asset Management • Authorise the issuing of property rates clearance certificates • Compile and submit reports • Supervision • Handle enquiries • Perform administrative tasks.

(Ref: F042) T12 – R420 533 to R545 881 gross salary per annum
Requirements: Relevant three year tertiary qualification (NQF7) BCom with Accounting as a major subject • Valid Code B driver’s license • Computer literate • Proficiency in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape • Five years’ or more relevant experience required which includes two years of supervisory experience.
Additional Requirements: Good management, human relations, interpersonal and communication skills • Attention to detail • High level of responsibility • Minimum Competency Level unit standards for Financial Officials at Middle Management Level as per the MFMA, will serve as recommendation.
Duties: Keep abreast of financial developments, policies and legislation • Planning and implementation of the immediate, short and long-term objectives/plans • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders • Compile and submit reports for statistical purposes and budgeting • Monitor, analyse and approve recording processes • Analyse the status of accounts • Prepare and approve journals • Management of Credit Control and Debt Collection procedures and implementation thereof including handover debt • Indigent management • Attend meetings • Manage and implement special debt collection initiatives • Issue billing clearances • Perform reconciliations • Perform Preferential Customer Care • Compile Financial Statements • Expenditure and Asset Management • Supervision • Management of customer relations and communication • Handle enquiries.
