ICT APPLICATION ADMINISTRATOR
Type: Permanent
Salary: The total remuneration package will be based on qualifications and experience.

The position of ICT Application Administrator is vacant. The ICT Application Administrator will report directly to the ICT Technical Team Lead and forms part of the ICT division. The position is based at GEMS Head Office, Pretoria.
The total remuneration package will be will be based on qualifications and experience.
The ICT Application Administrator will use skills required of a Systems Administrator in an in-house or hosted environment, as well as a working knowledge of the skills required to provision, manage, monitor, and decommission applications services and systems i.e. Microsoft Exchange, outlook, email continuity, email security and email archiving and provide support to the ICT Technical Team Lead through the following KPA’s:
Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
- Collaborate with ICT management leaders and your colleagues to assess near- and long-term applications and systems capacity needs, particularly for GEMS Executives, the Secretariat, and the Board of Trustees.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to application configuration, processes, and service.
- Oversee new and existing deployment of systems and application technology upgrades, particularly to GEMS Executives, the Secretariat, and the Board of Trustees.
- Research applications and systems technologies, products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the ICT trends industry.
- Oversee the end users’ applications and systems technical support to ensure end-user technical support quality assurance.
- Provide end users’ applications and systems risk mitigation plans.
- Provide inputs to designing, deploying, implementing, and maintaining end users’ Cloud and Office 365 environments.
- Work directly with clients and implement their specifications, i.e., Secretariat, executives, and board of Trustees.
- Conduct quality control analysis and produce reports to ensure sound technical support required.
- Provide technical assistance when it’s needed outside regular business hours.
- Alter the arrangement of venues to fit the needs of performers and meetings.
- Meeting with Event Coordinators to discuss audio, lighting, and video requirements.
- Altering venue arrangements according to layout diagrams.
- Laying electrical and sound cables.
- Setting up and installing microphones, lights, video monitors, projectors, speakers, and video cameras.
- Conducting sound, visual, and performance quality checks on AV equipment.
- Inspecting mountings and electrical equipment to ensure they conform to health and safety regulations.
- Operating sound and visual equipment during live events.
- Troubleshoot equipment and ensured events ran smoothly.
- Maintaining strong customer relations and integrity
- Disassembling audio and visual equipment and packing up after the event.
- Perform regular checklists to ensure all audio equipment for boardrooms and mobile audio and video equipment are working as expected to support hybrid meetings (virtual meetings and physical meetings).
- Support the ICT Team Lead to oversee end-user technical support at GEMS's head office and all the regional offices.
Qualification requirements are:
- National Diploma/Advanced Certificates (NQL 6) in the field of computer science or Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or a related field.
- 2-3 years of functional work experience (1-2 years at a supervisory level).
- Certifications in Office 365 would be advantageous.
- Certifications in ITIL would be advantageous.
- Certifications in Mimecast Administration would be advantageous.
- Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Willing to work outside normal business hours when required and to travel where required to perform work duties.
- Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
